I don't know about you, but sometimes, I need a little style inspiration when I feel like I need new work clothes. Whenever I get like that, I re-read my fashion magazines and watch reruns of What Not to Wear. Today I decided to take a look back at Elena Miro's Fall 2009 collection. I have to say, I am feeling inspired again. I love the models shapely bodies. I may do a little Tae Bo too. A workout always makes me feel good.

I love this dress. It simple yet sexy. The material looks rich and soft. A great cut and silhouette if you have or are trying to creat curves. This is a closet staple.

These are not your everyday coats. These are evening coats that are meant to make you standout from the crowd. They scream I have money. Even if you don't people will think you do.
What are your thoughts on these pieces? Loving it or Hating it?
I have been hearing through the blog vine that Chaka Khan will be teaming up with the UK plus size fashion store Evans for their Christmas collection. Can this be true? Well, I have found pictures to prove it to you. I first read this story while reading a really cute bog called Fat Girls Like Nice Clothes Too. So I went to Evans.co.uk and behold it's true. They're even running a Chaka Khan contest. It looks like the buzz about this started at the beginning of October (I know, I Know, I'm late). I just wanted to give you all a heads up.

Check out Chaka modeling a couple of pieces

I have to say I was never a fan of Chaka's style, but, she is looking pretty good in these photos.

From what I understand  there will be an Ad campaign that coincides with the nationwide Here Come the Girls tour featuring Chaka along with other plus size models like Lulu and Anastacia.  The campaign will run throughout November and December.

Can't wait to see the entire campaign.

What do you guys think about this.

Well, it looks like Glamour is doing double covers for their December issue. Michelle Obama is on the cover and now Rihanna has her own cover on Glamour's Women of the Year issue. Inside she talks about the Chris Brown issue and she even sends a message to young women.

Rihanna on the Chris Brown situation: “I went to sleep as Rihanna and woke up as Britney Spears. That was the level of media chaos that happened the next day.”

Rihanna encouraging young women: “My story was broadcast all over the world for people to see, and they have followed every step of my recovery. The positive thing that has come out of my situation is that people can learn from that. I want to give as much insight as I can to young women, because I feel like I represent a voice that really isn’t heard. Now I can help speak for those women.”

Rihanna on her growth over the year: “I am stronger, wiser and more aware. You don’t realize how much your decisions affect people you don’t even know, like fans.”

Serena Williams was looking muy caliente in this blue sweater dress and black suede knee high boots. I have to say that the new hair do was not working for me. I think the bangs are too long for her strong facial features.

Other than that her curves looked great in this dress.

Do you like Serena's new look?
This weekend I had a little extra time to relax and indulge in some me time. Every now and again I enjoy window shopping. I will just browse through stores and look at the new arrivals and cruise through the sales rack. Being the Brooklynite that I am, I cruised 86th street in Bayridge and stopped in Century 21, where I found two pairs of cute booties and a pair of satin pumps on sale.

Century 21

Betsey Johnson $69

Lamb $169

Elizabeth & James $169 (They look better on.)

I then decided to stop in New York & Company to see what kind of sale they had going on. There wasn't anything appetizing on the sale rack, but I did catch a couple of trendy new arrivals. All pieces come in sizes 2-18.

New York & Company

Military Jacket $59.95

Motorycle Sweater Jacket $42.95

Ruffle Fitted Shirt $39

Mo'Nique always looks fabulous when she hits the red carpet. Here she is at the AFI Fest screening of Precious.

The gold dress flatters her complexion while the cut flatters her shape. I know there are many plus size curvy girls who would'nt think of wearing anything strapless. If you are one of them, take a cue from Mo'Nique.

Former Plus Size Curvy Girls Sherri Shepherd and Star Jones

Gayle King and Mariah Carey wearing their curves well. Gayle's dress is a little too long and those shoes ????

Stylish Curves is about bridging the gap between missy curves and plus size curves. I strongly believe that as women we all have a connection when it comes to our bodies, and that is wanting our bodies to look their best in clothes. I know there are many designers who are opposed to adding larger sizes to their fashion lines and that is their choice.  However, there are designers out there that are making clothes for plus size and missy sizes. With that being said, I present to you an online boutique that is helping to bridge that gap.

Curvaceous Boutique is an affordably priced online boutique that predominantly carries plus size clothes from sizes 14W-30W and junior sizes 0-15.

I love the stylish and trendy designs that this boutique offers. The cuts are not boxy and the dress lengths are not down to your ankles. The designs are young, fun, and flirty. I see women of all ages wearing these clothes. These pieces can be easily worn to a casual dinner or a night out on the town. I am in love with the black ruffled jumpsuit and the key hole cut teal dress. The colors are rich and the materials are of quality. These pieces will accentuate all your curves in the right way. I can't wait to see more from this boutique. They also carry other designers such as Kiyonna, Mecca Femme, Size Appeal, Spanx, Boom Boom, and Doll house.

First Lady Michelle Obama graces the cover of Glamour Magazine. This is a historic moment for Glamour magazine because this is the first time they have ever had a First Lady on their cover.

Word on the street is that there is a new book out today about Mrs. Obama's style. The book is titled, Mrs. O: The Face of Fashion Democracy. The author Mary Tomer is a contributing editor and co-founder of www.mrs-o.org, a website dedicated to following Michelle Obama’s fashion.
Read more at: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mary-tomer

The book contians over 120 photographs and illustrations of Mrs. Obama's style. It includes quotes on Mrs. Obama's style from everyday women as well as interviews with some of her favorite designers.

My guess is that this will be more of a look book to be inspired by Michelle Obama's style.

What I love about her style is that you can relate to it and it is affordable. Although Michelle is a very fit person, she still has curves. I am quite sure those curvy hips is what got President Obama hooked on her in the first place. Her look is never frumpy  or stuffy like previous First Ladies. I like to think of her style as lady like chic because of the florals, crisp collars, cardigans, and kitten heels that she wears. It's like June Cleaver meets Claire Huxtable.

I think this will make a great coffee table read. Will you be purchasing?

Check out some of the illustrations:
