In 2009 missy and plus size curvy celebrities like Beyonce and Queen Latifah embraced their curves in form fitting dresses on the red carpet. Let's take a look back at some of our favorite curvy celebrities red carpet looks:

Best 2009 Red Carpet Curves

Curvy girl Jennifer Lopez rocks a gray courduroy jumpsuit. I am all for a jumpsuit that hugs curves in all the right places, but, I think this one is a little too tight. Her body looks great, but, this jumper does not flatter. There is too much pulling in the crotch area and the color washes her out. The matching shoes makes the outfit look bland and dated.

What are your thoughts on this? Would you put your curvy body in something this tight and light?

We are used to celebrity fashionistas being the normal slender frame with no curves, but, this year plus size curves reigned supreme in fashion. One new star that stood out to me was Ms. Amber Riley. The breakout star from the hit show glee.

Everytime we saw Amber she did not disappoint. She always was dressed to impress. What is more important to me about Amber is that I know she made so many young girls who identify with her body feel so much better about themselves. For years plus size women have been fighting to show designers and the world that we can look good in clothes and that plus size women have curves too.

I can't wait to see what Amber is going to be wearing for 2010. She has some serious style.

Flashbacks of Amber's style:

2009 was a fashion mixture of decades. 70's, 80's and 90's fashion was reinvented for 2009. We saw the return of broad shoulders due to Balmain, neon brights graced the runways at Michael Kors, and leggings and harem pants (aka MC Hammer pants) replaced jeans. Oh, and how could I forget, the romper jumpsuit and plaid also made a nice comeback.

These trends could have been difficult for a curvy girl because we have full hips, butts, and thighs which sometimes can make a trend like harem pants or rompers go awry. I think that these curvy celebrities did a pretty good job of wearing 2009 trends well.

Let's take a look at how curvy celebrities made these looks their own:

Jennifer Hudson rocked harem pants for a Today Show performance. I can't really say that they were a hit, but, she definitely gets an A for at least trying the trend. I would have chosen a blazer and pumps instead of a bulky top and wedges.

Beyonce casually debuted the Balmain military jacket. This was a good look for be the shoulders balanced out her curvy hips.

Serena rocked a plaid mini dress that showed off her thick muscular thighs. This was definitely one of her best outfits.

Curvy girl Kim Kardashian wore a linen romper with a sweetheart neck line and looked fabulous.
