Hey curvy girls:
Reader Asha asked where did the lovely and slimmed down curvy star Raven Symone get her color blocked dress that she wore to the XBOX 360 party last week. Well Asha, Miss Symone is rocking the $653 Zac Posen color block dress. The dress was originally priced at $1,090. This fabulous dress is made of cotton and elastene. It looks like it is only available at SAKS.

I must say that Raven's curves look awesome in this dress.

Hey curvy girls,
This weekend I went to B'more for a family crabfest party. I had way too many crabs and don't care if I never see one for the next 6 months. I thought I would share with you a few pics from the event with my family.
Me trying to put my shoes on, but, I was having a balancing issue.

Now I am ready to have my picture taken, lol.

It was all about the crabs

One of my younger cousins, she's an aspiring fashion designer. I thought she was too cute, but, everyone else thought she was crazy.

When people have a little drink, this is what happens

My big sister (I had to style her for the party)

Hey curvy girls,
It's been a long and exhausting week. However, I am so excited about next week because it will be Stylish Curve's 1 year anniversary. I have so many ideas for this blog which I will sahare with you all at a later date.  For those of you who are still sketchy about Loft (formerly known as Ann Taylor Loft) I just wanted to share this dress I bought from their 40% off sale about a week ago. What drew me to the dress was the draping and the design at the top of the dress, plus, it had pockets (which I love). Yes, it may be a little simple for those of you who like more edgier looks, but, it was something about it that I just thought was so cute and casual. When I put it on, the jersey material was so soft and comfy. It felt more like lounge wear. I will say that I need to take the top part in because it is a little too big. I had to keep pulling it up. My bottom half is the largest part on me so, I try to fit that first and tailor the rest (future post on tailoring). Other than that it was perfect.
Last year, I bought this little bomber jacket from Loft and I thought it would be a nice youthful touch to the dress. To make the look more interesting, I added a pair of leopard print Michael Kors (2nd fave designer) pumps that I scored on Ebay for $30 and only worn once (so they say). I promise to put the necklace to rest and shop for other necklaces (this Logo necklace has saved me so much money) to add to my jewelry wardrobe. Now, I have an addiction to this Loft cuff bracelet. You will see this again.
Oh, and Loft is offering 40% off sale items in store and online as of today. In case you like the dress too they still have it and they have other colors.

Please note: The Loft dress and jacket were all purchased with my hard earned money. However, Loft did gift to me the cuff bracelet. I am a true fan of Loft and do not receive anything for promoting them on this blog.

Hey curvy girls,
As the weather heats up, you should all think about adding some extra heat to your wardrobes with a little animal print. This classic staple is not only for fall/winter. Celebrities from Rihanna to Jennifer Lopez have brought out their animal prints for spring. You can take a cue from Rihanna and rock an animal print skirt or dress in a bright color. You can also be bold and try animal print harem pants for an edgier look. Think this look is not for you, think again. SC has hooked you up with some great options to spice up your spring/summer wardrobe.

P.S. Don't wimp out and just get a pair of animal print shoes. :).

Hey curvy girls,
A few months ago, I had the honor and privilege of meeting famed stylist Lori Goldstein. She has styled everyone from Madonna to Rihanna. Through my fairy god mother Kathryn Finney (Creator of The Budget Fashionista) I was able to go to a launch event at Lori's house for her QVC line Logo by Lori Goldstein. In an older post, I shared with you some of the clothes, but, today, I wanted to put you on to the AMAZING accessories Lori's line has. There is a gold flower necklace that I wear all the time with everything. So many people compliment me on this necklace and always ask where I got it from. Well, Logo is where I got it. At the event, Lori had us all bring an item in our closet that we never wear and she would show us how to style it. When it was my turn to get styled she pulled out this beautiful gold flower necklace and gave it to me as a gift. I have been stuck to it like flies on poop ever since. This is the necklace below.

While cruising the QVC line this week, I saw a few more Amazing accessories and shoes that are part of the Logo line. If you like the necklace that I have you can purchase it for $49 or you can do QVC's payment plan. We love QVC and HSN for those payment plans. Purchase HERE

Hey curvy girls,
After coming back home from the Lane Bryant conference I was so tired. I was not ready for work the next day. Normally I dress professionally chic for the office, but, I just couldn't bring myself to get all dolled up. Whenever I get that way, I reach for a pair of jeans a cool top, tons of accessories (my favorite) and some bright heels. So I did casual Friday on Monday (my boss was cool about it). I also had the chance to wear my new slim fit pants and gold cuff gifted to me from Loft (formerly Ann Taylor Loft). They are so soft and comfortable. The only thing I did not like was that they came below my waist and I normally wear my pants at the waist to hold in my baby hero (my stomach).

I bought this cardigan last year (you might remember it here) I love it because of the side pockets and that it doesn't have any buttons, so, I can leave it open or wrap a belt around it. You all know that I love mixing colors, so, I especially like how the dark blue looked against all the bright colors in the top. In this outfit I was able to get through the day comfortably and I even felt a little cute in it. Like I said, I was just chilling.

SC is giving away a free pair of these jeans. Stay tuned for contest info this week.

Hey curvy girls,

Yesterday SC received a question from reader Mica asking this:
I'm looking for a jumpsuit for a birthday party I will be attending next week. I wear about a 14-16, can you offer some suggestions on site I may find one?

Well Mica, SC has got you covered. I found this really cool jumpsuit at Newport News that is sure to turn heads at the birthday party (it's only $49). What's great about this jumpsuit are the details. It has the pleated harem pant bottom, structured shoulder, and ruched waist (SC likes ruching at the waist), which takes it a step up from being a regular black jumpsuit.

This  jumpsuit is from the ShapeFX brand. They design their clothes with shapewear already built in. Not sure if you need this for day or evening Mica, but, if it is for evening I suggest going for gold accessories. Try a cocktail ring or cuff bracelet to add a little flavor to your look. Killer heels are key to making a jumpsuit standout, so, don't be afraid to try something funky like zebra print or even a bright colored heel.

SC hooked you up with some more options that are for an evening or casual party. Hope these options are helpful.

Hey curvy girls,
There is so much to talk about from the Lane Bryant Blogger Conference that I have to break up the post in a few parts. The first part is this quick video I made from the conference. Finally, I got my little 7.0 Kodak to work somewhat right. Now, you can actually see me this time. The video consists of a few clips from shopping at the Easton LB store to arriving at the LB headquarters and meeting the VP of Marketing.

Stay tuned for more posts about the conference today.

Please Note: Lane Bryant paid for my travel, room, and meals for 3 days and 2 nights. As a participant of the conference, I received a Lane Bryant outfit which included intimates from their Cacique line. I was also treated to a photo shoot complete with hair and makeup.

Hey curvy girls,
I know it has been awhile since I posted, so, I wanted to share with you guys one of my outfits that I wore to the conference yesterday. I have a full write up coming about the conference slated to be posted next week. I had such a ball being treated like a princess for the day. All the bloggers went to the Easton Lane Bryant store in Ohio to pick out our outfits for a photo shoot. I wasn't sure what to wear so, I decided to rock this chambray denim dress with my faux snakeskin heels. I love, love, this dress. It was super comfortable.

The managers at the LB Easton store was so nice and friendly. That's two of the managers at the counter bagging up my goodies.

Enjoy your weekend!

Please note: In accordance with FCC regulations Lane Bryant is providing my travel and accommodations, along with complimentary clothing as part of my participation in this conference. As a participant in this conference I am committed, along with Lane Bryant, to full disclosure pursuant to FTC Guidelines.

Hey curvy girls:
Today is the first day of June and I am super excited because summer is on its way. I can't wait to go to the summer barbecues and hearWill Smith and Jazzy Fresh's Summertime theme song blasting from the speakers. I am also happy to announce that this month marks the 1 year anniversary for Stylish Curves. June 15th was the first blog post that I had written and sent out to all of my family and friends. You can check it out here. Boy, how time passes. I am truly glad to still be around a year later and I have you all to thank for that. I will be doing giveaways this month in honor of SC's anniversary, so, stay tuned.

There were a few stylish curvy celebrities for the month of May, Jennifer Hudson, Amber Riley, etc. I think that Jessica Simpson deserves May's Most Stylish Curvy Celebrity title for her ability to take her looks from the girl next door to a show stopping Hollywood glam goddess. SC thinks these were Jessica Simpson's best looks for the month of May.

Tell us, does she deserve the title? VOTE!
