As a blogger, I read tons of blogs. They're like magazines to me. I get a cup of coffee and sit and just read and look through so many great blogs. I love reading The Curvy Fashionista, Musings of a Fatshionista, XOXO Nikstar, Stiletto Lipstick, Madison Plus, Fab Finds under 50, Jasifer Lions Club, and the list goes on and on.
The 5 blogs I'm mentioning today are curvy girl blogs that really have my tongue wagging for more post updates. This is my personal list of curvy girl blogs that I think you guys would appreciate reading (if you aren't already). I feel like each of these blogs bring something different to the curvy girl community, whether it's because of their great style, great writing, or their fab eye for all things pretty and interesting.
Checkout SC's personal favorite blogs I read on a daily basis.
Christina of Love Brown Sugar
Why she's dope- I first discovered LBS from the pics she submitted on The Fashion Bomb a few months ago. Since then, I've been a major follower of her blog and have watched it evolve. Christina has a great sense of style. She loves blazers, cute shoes (my kind of girl), and H&M. She also has a great eye for accessories. You can always find her with interesting accessories. Christina is an editorial assistant for Honey Magazine and I love when she gives inside scoops on which celebrity was at a photo shoot. On LBS Christina likes to showcase hew favorite finds as well as show of her photography skills.
Angel of Angel On Fire
Why she's dope- You may know Angel from her celebrity blog Concrete Loop, but, she also has an amazing blog on Tumblr that showcases her eclectic style and candid thoughts. Angel has a love for Jeffrey Campbell boots, head wraps, and dope accessories (boy, does she love her accessories). Angel is not afraid to be her true self and show off her unique style. Her style pushes the envelope and makes you think outside the box. She is always serving up a fierce pose.
Reiko of Gods Favorite Shoes
Why She's dope- Reiko has a knack for thrift store shopping. I'm always amazed at the variety of looks she comes up with for a dress or top that cost her less than $10. She also has a dope shoe collection. Reiko loves to play with accessories. You can catch her in a fierce fedora and rocking a super fly clutch on a daily basis. Mixed in with her outfit posts Reiko gives her readers insightful and funny recaps of what her day was like. Since she is a school teacher she always has heart warming and funny stories about some of her students.
Nicolette of Nicolette Mason
Why she's dope- You know Nicolette Mason from the YFF conference this summer in NYC and from Vogue Curvy. I am always on edge for new posts from Nicolette because she loves all things fancy and anything from Miu Miu. Nicolette shows curvy girls that they don't have to shop within a box. You can see from her Vogue curvy videos that she shops in straight size boutiques and loves to mix high end designers with mid to low end brands. Nicolette's pictures are just as amazing as her style. Her photos have an artistic point of view and tell a story. She's always taking us on a fashionable journey whether it's from her inside looks at fashion shows to her yummy restaurant choices. What I love most is that she shows that Brooklyn (my hometown) is an awesome NYC borough to shop, eat, and sight see.
Danielle of Rhapsody
Why she's dope- The first thing that captured me when I started reading Rhapsody was how engaging Danielle's writing is. I knew immediately that she was a writer because her words flowed like water. This fab journalist is a budget shopper and her outfit posts are super cute and easy on the wallet. Rhapsody's website shows off her talents as a writer and budget fashionista.
Please note: This post is not to exclude any other curvy girl blogs, because I love them all. The 5 blogs in this post are my personal favorites that I feel standout from the crowd. So please don't take offense if you're not mentioned.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Last week I was having a shopping anxiety attack. For me, that means that when I have a little extra cash in my pocket, it feels like the money is burning a hole. I need to spend it. So, I gave in and bought so many amazing pieces. One of the pieces I bought was this super cute sequin skirt from Faith 21. Since the weather was nice this weekend I thought it would be the perfect time to wear it. I decided to wear it with a silver and black silk top that I got from Loft about 3 years ago.
My feet had been hurting me all weekend so I had to wear low heels with it. Although the weather was nice it still was breezy and I had to wear my favorite trench coat from Donna Karan.
skirt-Faith21, top-Loft, shoes-Steve Madden, bracelet-Alexis Bittar (gifted), earrings-Call It Spring (gifted), coat-Donna Karan
I've been playing around with lipstick colors because I'm on the search for my pink lipstick. I did find this reddish color by covergirl and thought it was pretty cute.

If you're are in NYC today, please be sure to stop by ReDress today from 5-7 to checkout all the new goodies they have. They have pieces from Rachel Pally, Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, and so much more with at least 50% off the retail price. Can anyone say, what a deal!
As you know I'm a HUGE fan of ReDress so, of course I'll be in the building checking out some of the great stuff while munching on cheese and crackers and sipping wine with my favorite shop girls. So, if you need a little retail therapy after work today stop by ReDress.

So far this season I've been buying a lot of animal prints. This is my 3rd animal print dress. I think I'm going to become one of those old ladies whose house is draped in animal prints from he couch to the curtains.
Hey curvy girls all over the world,
I was sent this super cute leopard print dress from curvy girl site Size Appeal. I have never worn anything from Size Appeal and quite frankly wasn't intrigued by their website. However, I was curious to know how their clothes fit and looked on an up close and personal level because the photos on the site don't do the clothes justice. So far this season I've been buying a lot of animal prints. This is my 3rd animal print dress. I think I'm going to become one of those old ladies whose house is draped in animal prints from he couch to the curtains.
What I like about this dress is that it has a peplum waist which makes it a little more interesting. I also liked that the straps were wide enough to still wear a full bra oppose to a strapless one. The dress had a close fit and required spanx to smooth things out and hold things in. Like many of the trendy plus size brands the fit is more juniors plus than womens plus, which I dislike. I had to order two sizes up and the dress still had a tight fit. The quality is equivalent to the majority of trendy plus size brands. Not luxurious, but, you can definitely get a few wears out of it. Which is fair since the dress cost less than $40 retail value.
I decided to wear my tuxedo jacket that I haven't worn in years. I loved the satin sheen against the animal print. I also liked the low back of the dress because it adds another element of sexiness. This is actually in my opinion one of those dresses that is perfect for going out for a night of partying.
Have any of you shopped at Size Appeal? Please share your thoughts and opinions.

Lanvin has released 4 looks from their H&M collection which very much resemble previous Fall and Spring runway looks from 2008 and 2009. These looks are super chic, classic, and sexy. Sizes vary when designers team up with H&M and I'm hoping that Lanvin atleast goes up to a size 16 ( I can hope can't I?). The looks in the pictures are very stuctured so I'm hoping that there are a few forgiving pieces too.
The Lanvin collection will hit stores on Nov. 23 and by the looks of things this could be H&M's biggest designer line.
Share with SC your thoughts on the looks.

It's finally coat season and this week SC will be doing a coat series. Outerwear will probably be your most prominent piece for the next couple of months next to a pair of hot boots. I don't know about you but, when I look for coats. I like to have at least three in rotation. I like to have a classic coat, a trendy coat, and wild card coat. While I know that the recession has many of us pinching pennies and many of us can only afford one great coat. I suggest that you choose a classic coat because when something is classic it goes with just about anything and it always looks fresh and crisp.
Talbots has updated their style and is offering some pretty chic classic coats that go up to a size 24W. I love the new coat collection from Talbots because of the rich hues and flattering shapes.

One of my favorite things to buy when Fall arrives are leather gloves. My obsession started back in 1999 when I found my first red pair on sale for $14.95 at TJMaxx. I prefer colorful leather gloves opposed to black ones because they automatically make you standout. I can't tell you how many times a cashier or someone on the street has stopped me to compliment me on a pair of my vibrant colored gloves.
Last year, I lost my favorite pair of leather gloves. Since gloves are one of those items that can easily be lost like sunglasses, I try not to pay too much for them. The max for me is $50, which is why I was extra heart broken when I lost my green argyle gloves that cost $50 and the fact that I managed to keep them for 3 years. Now, there have been times when I lost one of them and everytime I would lose one glove, somehow it found it's way back to me. Once I left one glove in a Duane Reade in Manhattan and didn't realize it until I got all the way to Brooklyn. I immediately called the Duane Reade and asked if they had seen it and to my surprise they had it. The next day we were reunited and it felt so good.
This weekend, I was thinking about my beloved green argyle leather gloves and decided to start a search for a new pair of colorful leather gloves. You might be thinking to yourself: Why leather? Because it's just something about that butter soft feeling. Why colorful ones? Because they spice up outerwear and make you standout. Plus, they look so chic peaking out from your coat sleeve. I am a super fan of long leather gloves because they're so dramatic. I also like when other fabrics are combined with the leather it makes the gloves that much more unique.
I wanted to share with you some of the styles I was checking out and hey, who knows, maybe you'll be inspired to get you a pair.

I think this may be the last weekend in NYC where we will get slightly warm weather. Fall is definitely here, but, today was such a nice day that I was happy to not have to wear stockings or a jacket. It was nice just to enjoy the warm breeze.
To fashionably enjoy the weather, I decided to wear my silver balloon skirt and a pink ruffle blouse that I just got on sale. Right now, I'm really into these lace booties that I wear them all the time with everything. I'm such a fan of color that it can easily change my mood once I put it on and this pink ruffle blouse had me happy all day.

The team over at Madison Plus are always up to something and loves keeping their readers in suspense. All this week MP has been showing pieces of what looked liked a photo shoot, but, they kept mum on what the pictures were for. Finally, they let the cat out of the bag. Madison Plus has teamed up with Simply Be to produce a cool and chic Fall 2010 LookBook showcasing pieces from Simply Be's US website and we love it. The look Book was shot on the fabulous and edgy streets of none other than my home borough, Brooklyn.

All the looks can be purchased at Simply Be's US site HERE
