Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Reader Jamie asked if SC could help find her a hot blazer for plus sizes.

Jamie, I know what you mean. I'm getting tired of the plain old boring blazers that junk up the plus size section in stores. SC found 9 blazers that are anything but ordinary.

Check it out:

Try a structured 6 button blazer in plaid

Polka dot blazers are girlie and fun

A peplum blazer is super feminine

Try a bright colored or animal print blazer in velvet

Sequin blazers are perfect for a night out

Tuxedo blazers are chic over a sexy dress or with denim

A waterfall blazer adds a little trendiness to your look. (P.S. this would be perfect for your 21st b'day)

A striped trapeze style blazer looks super chic with a pencil or mini skirt.

A hip length one button leather blazer is so chic and will automatically add a cool factor to any of your looks.

You know its cold when you have to be thankful that it's 35 degrees instead of 20. This weekend seems to be a little warmer than it has been the past couple of days so I'm taking advantage and trying to run some errands that I've been putting off. In case you were wondering, yes, I run errands in heels.
They make me feel put together.
I received this open cardigan sweater as a gift from Nordstroms plus size line Sejour. It has a little gold sparkle in it and it's nice and chunky and super warm. I thought it would look really good with this sleeveless ruffle neck top that I got from Jessica London. I love this shell because the bright orange really stands out and looks great peaking out from blazers and cardigans.
Lately I've been getting into hats and I spotted this fedora at Forever21 back in October and have been wearing it on days when my hair just has a mind of its own. This look is pretty much a typical weekend look for the winter for me. I like to layer shells and button ups under sweaters and belt them.

I love big manly watches and this Michael Kors watch is perfect for chunky knits.

Wearing my Michael Antonio ankle boots again. These boots just add a trendy flair to all my jeans and dresses. The gold studs are so fun.

This summer I found this super cute animal print dress at H&M. I loved the silhouette of the dress because it was fitted at the top and full at the bottom. I was intrigued by the ruffle neck color and loose pleating on the side of the hips that created a slight balloon effect. I thought it would be a great dress to transition into the Fall.
I used to be afraid of prints, but, I realized prints are your friend. I love wearing prints with a solid color which is why I decided to wear the dress with my velvet ruffled jacket that I got from Express way back in 2000. This is when Express was a true curvy girl friendly store. I used to wear this jacket all the time. It used to zip all the way up, but, now I'm lucky if I can zip it past my stomach , which is why I wear it open. I liked this look because it made me feel confident and chic.

Okay, SC is back with another superb giveaway. Last month I was gifted this amazing wrap shirt dress from Igigi. Let me just tell you how comfortable and striking of a dress this is. You know that I love bright colors and classic pieces. So it was a no brainer for me to choose this rich purple dress from the website. I first saw it at FFFWeek in NYC on the runway when it caught my eye. The dress is made of high quality cotton and the material is smooth. I love that the ties on the dress were super long because you could wrap it around your waist a couple of times. The portrait collar doesn't make you feel all stuffy or button up. The color of the dress is a flattering rich deep purple.
The pockets on the dress are deep enough to hold lip gloss, keys, and even a wallet. Normally I like my dresses slightly above the knee, but this dress hits below the knee which I actually liked. I love how universal this dress is. I can wear it to work, church, lunch, dinner, conferences, just about anywhere. The a-line flair of the dress gives off a very sophisticated look and is roomy enough if you carry most of your weight at the bottom.
I decided to wear it with my studded ankle boots to add more of a youthful flair to the sophisticated silhouette. I also loved how it looked with my tan multi-colored fedora and my gold flower necklace. This dress has become a staple in my wardrobe and I plan on wearing it to death.

Last week a host of blogger's were invited to Hanky Panky & Sir Alistair Rai Bolly-Day Gifting Bazaar. An event where we got to pick out gifts for our readers and of course ourselves. The bazaar was also a showcase for Sir Alistair and Hanky Panky's spring collection. Hanky Panky had a lovely assortment of lace thongs, briefs, and tanks in bright colors and floral prints.
In case you didn't know Hanky Panky also offers a plus size collection with a fit that is one size fits all. However, there are some pieces on their website that are sized from a 1X-3X OR 14-24. What I liked about the Hanky Panky lingerie is that they didn't just give the plus size girls the basic black, white, and beige colors they hooked us up with pretty purples and sexy reds.  For more of the plus size collection checkout their website HERE

If you're not sure how to take care of your undergarments Hanky Panky has a lingerie detergent to help keep your lingerie in tact and not tearing at the seams.
The Sir Alistair scarves were so pretty. The bright colors mixed with tribal like patterns were a great combination and gave a bold look.

Since it is the season for giving, SC is giving away to one lucky reader a Hanky Panky & Sir Alistair Rai gift basket. Inside the gift basket you will find two pairs of Hanky Panky lace plus size thongs (one size fits all), a Sir Alistair Rai scarf, Loreal eyeshadow compact, a mini Kiehls lotion, and a jar of Hanky Panky lingerie detergent.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
There is only a few weeks until Christmas and I have the perfect stocking stuffer for you, shoe clips. Shoe clips are an inexpensive gift to give to someone at the office, a friend who loves shoes, or to keep for your self. The good people over at ShoeClips. Biz was kind enough to send me a pair of their super cute shoe clips to tryout. Being that I love shoes I thought this would be a perfect item to update some of my solid colored shoes. I chose the black and white polka dot chiffon clips because they were so adorable.
What I love about shoe clips is that they instantly take a bland pair of shoes to a WOW! pair of shoes. Shoeclips.biz has a large assortment of shoe clips that work for any occasion and any one's personal style.
They have rhinestone, animal prints, fur, and bow clips to jazz up any pair of shoes you have. Their site is pretty easy to navigate through. You can shop by color, style, and price on their website.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Looking for a new winter coat? Well, take a few notes from Halle Berry. She was spotted outside the Good Morning America Studios looking super warm and chic in a gray high neck tie waist wool coat. For many of us we like coats in bright colors for the winter, but, a black or gray coat can be a standout with just the right details. We love how Halle''s coat has a high neck and buttons on the side. The tie waist shows off Halle's waist and breaks up the bulkiness of the coat.

Get a similar look for your curves with this uber chic wool coat from ASOS Curve. We like that this ASOS Curve coat has some interesting details like the funnel neckline with twin epaulettes and structured pleated shoulder. This is the perfect coat to make you look chic and warm for the colder months. Plus, your friends will be glad that you gave that bright red coat a rest.

As SC always say, curvy girls can look just as good as the slim girls do.

Get the look!

*For my new followers, skinny girl fashion for curves is a feature that SC does where we take slender celebrity looks and show you how to recreate it for your curves. I have been doing this feature since I started blogging back in June of 2009.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
I've been a reader of Lucky magazine since 2001 and very few times have I ever seen anything plus size in their magazine. Last week I tweeted to @luckymagazine that they needed to show more plus size clothes and models. Little did I know that they were already a step ahead of me. Last Friday I picked up the January issue of Lucky magazine at the newsstand and I was shocked to see plus size model Maiysha in the "What works for me" column of the magazine.

They dressed Maiysha in pieces from Lane Bryant, Faith21 Plus, and Banana Republic. While she looked great and the magazine did offer good styling tips to flatter your figure, it would be nice to see a feature that reads how to embrace your curves stylishly. If you have large round hips show women how to embrace them and not hide them.
I am a big believer in baby steps and I think this was Lucky Magazine taking baby steps. I'm also wondering could Lucky be turning over a new leaf since they have a new editor? Will there be more plus size looks to come in future issues or was this just one feature to pacify us?

Let me know your thoughts.

Amber Riley is probably one of the most stylish curvy celebrities in the industry. She never misses a fashion beat. For the past month Amber has taken a break from her Tadashi Shoji dresses and has been rocking some super cute looks from Donna Morgan.

SC has been a fan of Donna Morgan dresses since my first black and white jersey dress I scored at Macy's downtown Brooklyn a few years ago.

Donna Morgan offers chic and classic cocktail dresses in modern styles. The line goes up to a size 16 in straight sizes and I must say that her size 16's are cut pretty generous. Her dresses run from about $100-$200 which is a pretty good price point since they're made of good quality.

If you love the Donna Morgan dresses that Amber Riley is wearing then head over to Nordstroms to checkout more looks.

Also this post comes just in the nick of time because if you live in NYC Donna Morgan is having a sample sale over 65% off. The sample sale is from Dec. 9th-10th. Checkout the Donna Morgan facebook page HERE for more details.

Don't waste time. You know you need a dress for those holiday party's.

What do you think of Donna Morgan dresses?

Here are three of my faves

Last month designer Tasha Hill and plus size petite model Jeannie Ferguson showcased their Big Girls United clothing line. The collection was titled the Chameleon collection. A line that offers curvy girls stylish trendy pieces that showcase our curves. We like that the silhouettes are not boring and plays up curves. Most women plus or not shy away from harem pants and this collection embraces them. The collection has all the right details to flatter a curvy girls figure like draped dresses and a ruffled hem jacket. The collection brings out the girlie side of a woman with bright rich hues such as cobalt blue and magnetic purple. If you're not a fan of bright colors, there are a few black pieces like the zippered sleeve dress to give you the edge that you need.

After seeing this bold trendy collection, Big Girls United is now on SC's radar. You know we just love when clothing brands embrace curves in a stylish way. For more looks checkout BGU.
