Kerry Washington never disappoints in the style department. She is one of the few celebrities who look just as good in jeans and a top as they do in a red carpet gown. SC loves Kerry's look for its casual cuteness. Suede fur boots, skinny jeans, and a striped top are a great weekend look.

Get Kerry's look for your curves.

Well, it's the last week of 2010 and this week SC is taking a look back at the curvy celebrities that inspired you with their personal style and self confidence. We covered a lot of curvy girl style and these Hollywood stars were serving up some of the hottest styles out there for curvy women. They didn't wear things that covered them up or blend in with everyone else. These curvy celebs showed us how to wear trends, look classic, and show off our curves.

We want you to vote on which curvy celebrity had the best style in 2010. Was it America Ferrera with her sultry chic dresses? Was it Amber or Hayley who represented for the trendy curvy girls? Or was it Queen Latifah and Raven Symone who showed off their new svelte figures in body con dresses and skinny jeans.

You Decide!

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Carmakoma has released a new video called "Boost Your Carma." The video features a curvy blond bombshell that looks like a modern day Marilyn Monroe.

”The main character in the film is like the carmakoma woman. She feels free in her body, uninhibited by other people’s opinions. With an understated decadence she is playing with the forbidden showing her bold femininity and her urge for life in a sophisticated and extremely sexy manner,” says Heidie Lykke and Angelica Weiss, the two women behind carmakoma.

The video serves as a celebration of curvy women who possess self confidence from within.

Sometimes I have to refrain from going into Forever21 because the clothes are so cheap and cute that I wind up over spending. A few months back I visited the Forever21 store on 42nd street doing some mindless shopping and came across this super cute dress for $25. The dress had just the right details to make it into my closet. I loved the little bow belt, ruched sleeves, and the sweetheart neckline. Most of all I loved the berry color. It 's a perfect dress for dinner or drinks.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Checkout SC's new video checking out the new Monif C. boutique. From Monif C. intern to brand manager, Brandon gives SC an in depth look at the new Monif C. boutique (located at 325 W. 38th Street (between 8/9th Avenues) in Suite 207) and shares some insight on the fabulous holiday collection, what's their number one seller, and a perfect partnership with LaDan's Closet.

I also took a few snapshots of the boutique. Check it out:

When I got word that Monif C. had moved to a new boutique, I just had to be there to check it out.
The boutique had me at hello as soon as I saw the rich pink colored walls. I loved the the black and white leopard print back wall and the striped dressing room curtains. There was a pink shaggy carpet placed in the middle of the store that just made you want to roll around on it. A beautiful black chandelier served as the centerpiece of the room. Mannequins were decked out in gorgeous red dresses from the fall collection and there was a super cute assortment of sandals, boots and jewelry showcased throughout the store.
The boutique felt warm, inviting, and made you ready to shop. Monif C. has had tremendous success and she adorned her walls with framed magazine features from Essence and Glamour.

Although the space is small, Monif did a great job of decorating the space. Everything was so neat and orderly. If you're in NYC or plan on coming to NYC make sure you check out the Monif C. boutique. You'll be in pink heaven.

Be sure to check back this week for my one on one interview with Monif C. herself.

Special thanks to:
Monif C. and Brandon for letting me come with my big tripod and little camera.

I am a super fan of fellow curvy girl Jazmine Sullivan. Her voice is ridiculous (in a good way)! It's deep, sultry, warm, and velvety. This year she dropped her second album, Love Me Back. Which has amazing songs like "10 Seconds" and "Hold you down."

Along with dropping a new album, Jazmine has taken on a new style. When she first stepped on the scene, she had more of an undefined  look. She was known for rocking super cute head wraps, but, I think she was still finding her artist style. This time around she opted for more of a sexy sophisticated look with a touch of edginess mixed in. Sullivan has been on her album campaign trail and she's been serving up some pretty good curvy girl style.

Tell SC if you're feeling Jazmine's new look

What is that, velvet? (I'm sorry, I just couldn't resist.). Ever since that hilarious scene in Coming To America, whenever I say or see velvet, I have to say that line. Velvet seems to have made a big comeback this year, but, it my opinion it never left. I've always been a fan of velvet and no matter its popularity, I've always worn it. A few months back I bought this velvet two button blazer with a gift card I got after attending Bodens Johnnie B. fall collection preview. They had a pink velvet and a leopard print velvet version of this blazer that I wanted, but, I chose the black because I realized that I didn't have any nice looking black blazers. I thought a black velvet blazer would be perfect to dress up or dress down. Especially for the fall and winter months.

As you all know, I like my clothes to work double duty. Meaning, I need to be able to wear at least 60% of my clothes to work and on the weekends without looking like I'm going to work on the weekends (it does happen sometimes). I chose to wear the blazer with a ruffled skirt for a youthful look. Velvet can sometimes age you, so, it's important to make sure that you are wearing it with pieces that are young and fresh.

The second time I wore the velvet blazer, I was trying to play around with looks. I wanted to wear it with a trendy item so I chose to wear it with my light blue denim biker jeans, a striped sweater and my black pumps with polka dot shoe clips. I think it's important to play around with your wardrobe and mix and match pieces for an unexpected look.
This blazer really had a comfortable fit. I had never purchased anything from Boden before because I thought the clothes were a little too mature for me. I'm hoping that leopard print or pink velvet blazer is still available after Christmas because it will be mine. In case you didn't know, Boden goes up to a size 18.

More options for a velvet blazer:

SC's Tips for wearing velvet- Although I chose a black and white theme with my velvet blazer, there are so many more ways you can wear one. Velvet is such a soft smooth fabric that it automatically dresses things up. It livens up whatever you wear it with. Try a velvet blazer over a sexy slinky dress in a bright color or pair it with a satin top for extra glamour.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
What girl doesn't love themselves a cute leather jacket. A leather jacket is one of those pieces that looks good with everything. You can wear it over your most feminine dresses for a cool look or you can wear it with jeans and boots for that biker chic look. It used to be hard for a plus size girl to find cute leather jackets that fit her body. Now, times have changed. This season leather jackets have been updated with feminine details, striking colors and flattering fits. All in plus sizes!

Retailers are finally catering to us in the leather department and SC has found 5 super cute leather jackets to flatter your curves.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Reader Jamie asked if SC could help find her a hot blazer for plus sizes.

Jamie, I know what you mean. I'm getting tired of the plain old boring blazers that junk up the plus size section in stores. SC found 9 blazers that are anything but ordinary.

Check it out:

Try a structured 6 button blazer in plaid

Polka dot blazers are girlie and fun

A peplum blazer is super feminine

Try a bright colored or animal print blazer in velvet

Sequin blazers are perfect for a night out

Tuxedo blazers are chic over a sexy dress or with denim

A waterfall blazer adds a little trendiness to your look. (P.S. this would be perfect for your 21st b'day)

A striped trapeze style blazer looks super chic with a pencil or mini skirt.

A hip length one button leather blazer is so chic and will automatically add a cool factor to any of your looks.
