Hey curvy girls all over the world,
The weather this weekend was sunny and breezy. I felt like wearing my ruffled hem Angel Ribbons tunic gifted to me from Simply Be. As you all know next to leopard print, I am obsessed with anything that has ruffles. I first saw this dress on the back of the Simply Be fall catalog. It's really a tunic but covers the rear enough (for me at least) to wear as a dress. I love the billowy elastic 3/4 sleeves and I like that its a little loose. It fits a little like a baby doll dress.
I've had the dress for about 2 weeks, but I waited to wear it because I was on the hunt for a wide brim floppy hat, which is on trend this fall season. They are everywhere. During Fashions Night Out I participated in JCPenney and People Style Watch's Miss for a Hit. I brought in a dress (that I should have never bought) as my miss and I received a $25 giftcard from JCP to purchase something that would be considered a hit. I found this tan floppy hat and immediately thought to get it so I could wear it with my Simply Be dress. This dress is versatile. It can be dresses up with lots of jewels and a pair of sexy heels and it can be dressed down with a pair of tall flat boots and black tights. I plan to get tons of wear out of this piece.

Amber Riley hit the red carpet in a totally different look. She rocked a short layered bob and an embellished lavender ruched floor length gown. I am a little on the fence about the dress, but I like the new do.
Sofia Vergara looked absolutely fabulous in a coral one shoulder gown. I just love how the color highlights her skin and the oversized earrings were a perfect compliment.
Former curvy girl Kelly Osbourne looked lovely and so pretty in an eggplant colored one shoulder ruched gown. The matching accessories worked with her look.
Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Last night Emmy's brought out some of our favorite curvy, plus size, and straight size celebrities. Let's take a look at what they wore.
First up, Christina Hendrick's went for her signature, look at my boobs dress. Although the dress is very glam, I love when Christina wears color. I like the elegance of this dress but, I am not smitten with it on her.

Bridesmaids and Mike & Molly star Melissa McCarthy wore a dark purple deep V gown that she designed herself, accented with a gold link necklace.
The best dressed to me last night was Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrey. That dress was everything and more and I love how she kept the accessories simple.
Kate Winslet also went for red last night in a low cut floor length gown. The look came off very sexy and chic.

Now it's your turn, which celeb rocked the Emmy's for you?

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
In the midst of catching shows at Lincoln Center I was invited to view plus size designer SK Wilbur's s/s 2012 collection in midtown. I have to be honest, I got there late and missed the show. However, I managed to snap a few pictures of the models still in their dresses after the show.
Wilbur's spring collection entitled "Out Of The Dark" offered ladylike sophisticated styles punctuated with edgy details. His spring color palette consisted of white, black, and gray, with color splashes of tomato and citrine. The classic simplistic styles were adorned with edgy details like exposed zippers, sculptural and mesh shoulders, leather trimmed zip belts, as well as classic pleating and draping. The details are what makes the collection standout. The high neck dresses were complimented with bold necklaces from Lee Angel, and over sized clutches designed by Wilbur himself for an upcoming collection call Garden Variety.
Wilbur wanted his spring collection to evoke a feeling of renewal and rejuvenation. According to Wilbur, "A time to cast off heavy burdens." The spring collection presented a balance of sophisticated styles mixed with current trends.
What do you think of the SK Wilbur Spring 2011 collection?
For more information on the line and where to purchase check out SK Wilbur's site at www.skwilbur.com.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
First, let me say thank you for all the love on th midi dress post (Seen Here). I think I am going to play around more with that trend. Yesterday, I was cleaning out my closet and I came across my floral ruffled skirt that I totally forgot about. It was hanging in the back. I bought it during the winter time at Forever21. When I saw it again, I said, hey, I forgot about you. I decided to put it on and wear it with my favorite blazer. Yup, the pink one from the OSP collection.
The pink blazer was the perfect backdrop to the short floral flirty skirt. I wore my gray perforated suede slingbacks from Enzo and completed the look with gifted jewels from Avenue and a pair of purple Aviator's aka my cop sunnies.

I liked 80’s fashion for its boldness, fearlessness, and sometimes rebellious nature. It was an era in fashion where everyone didn’t look like they stepped off the set of an old Hollywood movie. 80’s fashion was about change. It was a time when women were really starting to wear the pants not just at home but at the office, when good girls wanted to go bad, and a time when girls wanted to just have fun and rock out in their pink leg warmers.
You can look at just about any designer collection and see the return of 80’s style.
Back in 2009 Balmain had everyone in a frenzy over his strong shouldered jackets. Wide brim hats were the major must have accessory this past summer, For fall 2011 brooches will be one of the ultimate accessories to have. Although leg warmers are on hiatus, leggings are still reigning supreme.
Whether you loved or loathed the 80’s designers are bringing them back one piece at a time.
D&G brings back 80’s punk rock, Band of Outsiders revisits the late 80’s grunge look which became more popular in the early 90's, and Stella McCartney goes peplum crazy for fall 2011.
What were some of your favorite 80's styles?

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
You know I am a lover of Century21. I've spent many lunch breaks in their shoe department looking for the best designer deals. This year Century 21 is celebrating their 50th anniversary. That means they’re celebrating five decades of some of the most chicest, hair raising, WTH styles that have become part of pop culture and for many of us styles that tell the stories of our lives. I'm so honored that they have selected me as one of their top 5 blogger's and have asked me to talk about one of the most memorable decades of fashion, The 80's! 80's fashion had so many elements.
When I think 80's, I think about the TV show Dynasty and the glamour it brought to the 80's. I remember when one of my favorite characters Alexis Carrington (Joan Collins) would wear a chic draped ruched heavy shoulder pad dress or her pencil skirt suits complete with a wide brim hat and glamorous accessories.
I also thought about the emergence of tough leather zippered jackets just like the one Michael Jackson wore in his Thriller video.
and who could forget about Madonna the queen of 80’s style who rocked lace fingerless gloves to create a signature look.

This fall season high waisted pants and sleek long blazers are making a major return. Although I feel like the 80’s was about making a statement. It did have its share of girlie glamour. Think peplum and ruched dresses, bright floral dresses, ruffled hem mini’s, and the occasional tutu.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
It looks like more straight size brands are trying to get a piece of the plus size pie. While doing some late night online shopping I visited the Nordstrom site and came across a few pieces from Vince Camuto plus. Footwear designer Vince Camuto (we love his shoe designs) now has a plus size collection. Talk about brand expansion! Over the past year Vince Camuto has been branching out from just designing shoes to creating a full blown apparel and accessory line. The apparel line offers everything from tops and bottoms to outerwear.
The apparel line is not only carried in Nordstrom's and Dillard's but is also available on HSN on easy pay. Way to go Vince! The collection looks like most beginner plus collections. Classic styles with a splash of trendiness. Some of the styles remind us of Micheal Kors plus. Nevertheless, the pieces are chic and of the moment. My favorites are the sequin top, leopard print skirt, and tie neck blouse.
My only beef is where was the advertisement for this? You have to let plus size women know that you are making clothes for them. Social media would have been a great way. Maybe they did and I just missed it? Nevertheless, the collection looks promising and I can't wait to try it especially that leopard print skirt. You know I love my leopard print.
Check out Vince Camuto's plus size collection and tell SC what you think. To view more pieces from the Vince Camuto plus size line click HERE

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
I love when I get new emails for Stylish Curves of the day. Today's Stylish Curvy Girl of the day is Fannie. When it comes to Fannie's style here's what she had to say:
I feel my wardrobe and overall style is stylish! My two favs are Fashion and Makeup!!
My style is not to over the top but still fashionable! I don't jump to designers or brand names, I shop everywhere and piece different things together.
I have curves that I like to accentuate and think that as a curvaceous women its always a good thing to stay respectable to your body yet still be able to be fashionable.
You don't have to be showing everything to be sexy :) I think to be labeled "stylish" you have to own it and have a personality within just throwing on some clothes that you think are "stylish", you have to have that...."swag" per say!
I dress as if there is always somewhere to go, I keep heels in the car because you just never know :)

I've said on this blog numerous times that just because a store doesn't carry a full plus line doesn't mean you can't fit it. This dress is a size 14 and let me tell you, I haven't been a size 14 in about 3 years. I am about a size 18 now and this dress fits me better than some of my pieces from actual plus size stores. So, remember that it's very important to try things on you never know.
To complete my look I went for vintage style accessories. I chose over sized shoulder skimming earrings from Aldo's, a tassel necklace from Loft, a vintage bracelet from my mom, a satchel tote from H&M, and my fuchsia BCBG peeptoes. I received many stares as I road the D train to Lincoln center and once I hit the steps of Lincoln center I received compliments from my fellow fashion lovers.
Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Today I had two shows this morning which was Norma Kamali and and menswear line Rochambeau. I decided to wear a pleated open sleeve dress from H&M. This weekend I tweeted that I had a good find day at H&M. Everything I tried on looked great. However, out of all the pieces I picked up I was quite intrigued by this pleated midi dress. It really isn't my style. I like my dresses to hit at or above the knee, but for some reason I was attracted to this dress. I love the blush pink color and how it flatters my skin tone. I also love how the open sleeves drape over my arms.
