Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Yesterday was such a beautiful fall day. Not too cold and not too warm. I thought the weather called for and outfit that represented a little bit of spring and a little bit of fall. I decided to wear my second favorite piece from the One Stop Plus spring 2011 collection, which is this off white leather biker jacket. Can I just say that this jacket is all that and a bag of chips (corny, I know!).
The jacket was gifted to me from The OSP team earlier this year. I never wore it because I became so smitten with the OSP collection pink blazer (seen here & here), that I kind of forgot all about this jacket.
The jacket actually popped into my mind when I bought this Rachel Rachel Roy dress at Macy's. I'm a huge fan of Rachel Roy especially when she goes on sale at Macy's. I scooped up this little Eco friendly pleated dress in a salmon color. Rachel Roy does not do plus but some of her pieces are cut for the girl with a little or in my case a lot of meat on her bones. Once again, as plus size women we must try things on. When I first saw the drees, I was getting ready to write it off because I assumed it wasn't going to fit around my hips, but, I know better than to just write something off without trying it on and I am glad I did. When I tried it on and I that sucker fit over my hips without Spanx, I grabbed it with the quickness because it was the only XL left.  I looooove this dress and the pleated details. It's so feminine but has a sophisticated aura about it.
I thought the jacket and the dress would be a perfect combination for a day like yesterday. I completed my look with another over looked item in my closet which are theses snakeskin print sandals by Calvin Klein. They were buried in the back of my closet and oddly enough when I was pulling the dress out so I could iron it, the shoe box fell on me. Go figure!
I felt so cool and chic yesterday, you couldn't tell me anything. Stay tuned to SC this week for event recaps and new fall collections to be on the lookout for.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
On Friday I did my normal lunch break shopping. I hit up the Aldo's store that was near my office. We all know Aldo's has very trendy sometimes pinch your feet shoes, but I think people really sleep on the amazing accessories and handbags that they offer. I told you before that I was building up my handbag wardrobe so I decided to checkout and see what Aldo's had to offer and boy am I glad I did.

I found leopard print clutches and ostrich leather totes. They even had a nice assortment of faux fur bags which were quite fancy looking. I didn't purchase anything because I left my coupon at home. Hopefully all the cute bags won't be gone when I comeback with my coupon.

If an Aldo's is not near you, then checkout their site for some of these uber chic bags. Go to Aldo's.com

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
This week on my fashion radar, I have been in love with a medley of things. From red and black leopard print loafers to horse print tie neck dresses. I thought I would share with you some of the things that are on my wishlist right now.

Horse print tie neck dress from ASOS $73.18
I am hoping and praying they offer this in the curve range. I just love this dress. It screams unique and chic.

Topshop leopard print loafers

I'm not really into flats but recently loafers have been calling my name. These red and black print loafers from Topshop kind of reminds me of something that could have been in the Michael Jackson Thriller video.

Don't you think these would look pretty cool under a black mini skirt and ankle boots or with a long oversized blazer?

Love this Aldo's bag for work. Super professional and classy.

I love the swingy effect this skirt has. Perfect for work or an evening blog event.

The gap has been stepping up it's accessories game and this chain handle purse is so cute with a comfy cropped sweater and skinny jeans.

These wedges are all that and a bag of chips. That's all I have to say about them

Who doesn't love a cape right now. I like that this is in the form of a trench.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Have you heard about the full body photo project by Jessica Kane the Editor and Chief of Skorch Magazine and creator of the personal blog "The Life & Styles of Jessica Kane?" Well, if not then listen up. The full body project was created by Jessica Kane to empower women to start loving their bodies. Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Today's Stylish Curvy girl is Shakiyla and when it comes to embracing her curves here's what she has to say:

"It’s taken me some time to appreciate my body as a whole but along my journey of life experiences  I’ve learned to appreciate what God has given me.

I am who I am and that’s what its gonna be.  So instead of wasting time complaining I opt to celebrate all that I am.  Every last roll and curve.

I try my best to break rules.  I let fabrics cling to my curves , I wear white after labor day and even try my best not to shy away from horizontal stripes.  And guess what I don’t apologize for it.

Because what is most important is that I stay unique and  true to myself.

Favorite Shops: H&M, Forever 21, Uniqlo, Macy’s, Bloomingdale's, Old Navy and just about any Goodwill.

Thanks for submitting Shakiyla. Loving the stripe dress from Old Navy and that butterfly pic is everything.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Today marks the start of a new feature called Friday Fierceness, celebrating plus size models. This feature will show love to plus size models who are doing their thing in the fashion industry. Stylish Curves has covered plus size models before but now I want to make sure we are showing the plus size model some love on a weekly basis. Whether they are a size 14 or 22. If you're a working plus size model doing fierce things in the fashion industry send in a photo of your most recent work to be featured on Stylish Curves Friday Fierceness. Email: stylishcurves@gmail.com

Kicking off the start of this new feature is none other than Fluvia Lacerda. Fluvia is just smoking hot whether she's dolled up or plain Jane. This week Fluvia slayed another magazine cover with her fierceness.

Check her out on the cover of UK magazine Beautiful. She's being dubbed as the 21st Century Supermodel. Isn't she fierce?

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
We are back with another look from the Kardashian sisters. Khloe is becoming quite the fashionista these days. I've been smitten with just about every look she's donned over the past few weeks. I am still drooling over that star print skirt she wore from Dolce & Gabbana. I'm hoping ASOS makes a plus size version of that skirt or I'm going to have to shop one of the straight size stores and hope for good lycra.

This week Khloe rocked a chic little printed tie neck shirt dress in a black and white plaid pattern. She broke up the print with a black medium sized belt and a pair of over the knee black boots. The same Christian Louboutin pair Kim wears alot. What's nice about Khloe's look is that she mixed prints by adding a houndstooth clutch to her look. A tie neck shirtdress is apropriate for work and for drinks right after.

Like Khloe's look then get it for your plus size curves with these items

BCBGeneration over the knee boots,

a Style &Co leather belt

and mix prints with this ASOS houndstooth satchel

Round sunglasses are popular this season. Try these from Sunglass Warehouse

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
As I told you before, we have been getting lots of submissions for Stylish Curves of the day. Thanks so much. Now, on with today's Stylish Curvy girl. Check out Jen and how she embraces her curves:
"Contrary to popular belief, I began loving my body after I gained weight.  I was considered “average” while growing up, but I was constantly obsessed with looking “fat” and wanting to lose weight.
I hated shopping because nothing “fit” and I was self conscious about how I looked both clothed and naked.  I couldn’t name one part of my body that I appreciated, and it actually contributed to me going into a deep depression.

Ironically, once I gained a little weight, and, most importantly, once I found the Fatshion community, I began to embrace my “curves” and began to enjoy dressing up to accentuate my best features. It has become a game to shop and try on clothes and, unlike before, boy is it fun!

My style is more classic than hardcore trendy. : like to stick to those basics that will remain season after season. However I like my basics to still have a bit of a twist such as a leopard print sheath dress or a snake skin pencil skirt.
One fashion tip that I would give other curvy ladies (and women in general), is to appreciate what you’ve got: Embrace it, love it and enjoy it.  Listen with love and gratitude to your body’s message to you, it will help you learn about yourself and others.
I’ve learned more about myself, (and other people) over the last three years that I’ve been considered plus size, than I’ve learned over 10 adult years of being considered “thin”. It is truly amazing to be curvy and I
embrace it all the way.
My website is www.LiteralGemini.blogspot.com

Thanks so much for your consideration...hope I didn't say too much!
Jen

No Jen, you did not say to much. Thanks for submitting.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
I think it's safe to say that snakeskin is the print of the season. As a leopard print lover, I must say that I have no qualms at all about cheating on leopard print with snakeskin this season. Kim Kardashian was spotted last week in a divine snakeskin print shirt dress. One of the things women love about Kim is her ability to effortlessly pull of trends in a sexy yet modern way. Ever since I saw Kim in this dress, I have been dying to get my hands on a snakeskin print dress just like hers or similar to it. While browsing the racks at H&M this week, low and behold, I found a snakeskin long sleeve dress. I smiled with glee as I rummaged through the rack to find my size. H&M only goes up to a size L/ 14-16 in dresses and tops. However, as I told you numerous times some of the cuts are large and they can fit anyone up to a size 20 depending on your shape. So, I was geeked when I found a large in this dress and then I silently screamed when I saw the price of the dress was $14.95. Eeek! Yup, $14.95.

I knew I just had to share Kim's look and the H&M dress with my fellow plus size curvy girls. I love how she mixed the black and white print with gold jewelry. It wouldhave been easy to do silver, but the gold accents add flavor to the already trendy look.

Get Kim's look with these pieces:
