Hey curvy girls all over the world,
There is an old adage that we are all familiar with and it goes like this, "Never say never" I always said I could never get into the colored tights trend because it just wasn't for me. My style is young and classic. There is no room in my wardrobe for colored tights. Well, I am now a fan of them. Last year Jessica London sent me a pair of maroon colored tights. I never wore them. They have been sitting in my sock drawer for an entire year. Literally!
I decided to break them out when I found this super cute mod looking colorblock dress at H&M. I felt the dress was simple and I wanted to jazz it up a little bit. Wile searching for a pair of black opaque tights in my sock drawer. The maroon colored tights were staring me in my face and saying try me out with the dress. I obliged, and to my surprise I loved how they looked with the simple dress. I threw on my Steve Madden ankle boots, Old Navy trench, and was ready to go.

I now want more colored tights and can't wait to mix and match them with my shoes. Are you into colored tights?
Hey curvy girls all over the world,

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Last week Alicia Keys went for a menswear inspired look at her Keep A Child Alive benefit. Instead of a floor length gown, Alicia rocked out in an all white tuxedo blazer, black skinny pants and a gold top. She completed her look with a pair of gold cap toe heels.

Get the look for your curves with an all white tuxedo blazer from UK site Very.com which goes up to a us size 18/20. Try a gold sequin top like Alicia's with this Michael Kors sequin tank and go for a pair of black skinny pants for an evening out. Not Your Daughters Jeans make a good pair and splurge on a budding shoe trend like these cap toe pumps from Yves Saint Laurent.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Ever since seeing Dolce & Gabbana's fall 2011 collection of star printed pieces I've been dying for a star printed piece of my own.
This week, I saw the cutest little star printed cardigan at Forever21 this week and knew I just had to take it home. I love the fit of this cardigan and it goes with everything.
Being that it skims over the body I would tuck it into a skirt. For its first time out I wore it with my faux leather pants from Anna Scholz. The neckline has a deep v-neck which gives the sweater a sexy look.
I rocked the sweater with my usual silver accessories,a silver plated necklace from forever21, my cuff bracelet from Alexis Bittar, earrings from Armani Exchange, and a cocktail ring from Avenue. I also got these cool white shades as a gift from Gant.
Well, I'm off to get dinner. Hope you guys enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
It's Friday and I couldn't be more excited. This morning I woke up feeling great and ready to take on the day. Since it is Friday, I wore a casual Friday outfit to work today. Normally my casual Friday look is a blazer with jeans. Today, I decided to do denim on denim and drop my usual blazer. I put my red suede heels to the back of the closet. They needed a break. Instead I wore one of my best shoe score's which are these suede round toe heels from Steve Madden. I got them at my favorite lunch time shoe shopping spot which is Century 21. They were a steal at $17. It doesn't get better that.
I wore my pink suede heels with this tie neck shirt I got from the Gap last year and my Flare leg jeans from Old Navy, whom btw is having a 30% Off sale.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
I love hearing about new sites to shop and what I love even more is  sharing them with you. This week I found out about a little online boutique that sells vintage clothes specifically for curvy girls called Ose (pronounced Uh-Seh). The owner sent me an email to check out her site and to tell me a little bit about her boutique.
Here's what she had to say:
"I was inspired to start this line because I wanted to fill the void of larger sizes in vintage wear while using my passion to making women feel beautiful inside and out and my love for fashion. I hit the country to find unique, one-of-a-kind pieces and have them reconstructed to fit plus-size women ."
You can find one of a kind pieces at Ose in sizes 14 and up. The prices are also affordable with many pieces under $100. If you're a vintage loving curvy girl then you may want to check them out.

Also, Ose is offering Stylish Curves readers 10% off to shop Ose (Uh-Seh) by using coupon code "StylishC4OSE" at check out on at www.oseuhseh.com . The code is good up to November 18th

If you like what you see, you can also follow Ose (Uh-Seh) on Facebook and Twitter

Fellow plus size curvy girl Queen Latifah came out to support Alicia Key's keep a child alive AIDS benefit. The queen rocked an all black suit and topped it off with a wide brim fedora.

Is she working it or is it back to the drawing board for this plus size queen?

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
TGIF! I can't believe it's Friday already. The week has flown by. Today's Fierce Friday model is one of my personal favorites. Chasity Saunders is a plus size model who is doing great things in her career. You probably noticed her as the only curvy girl werking clothes from Miss Tina's aka Beyonce's mom clothing line at Walmart or perhaps you've seen her rocking the runways at Full Figured Fashion Week. If you read Jones Magazine then you've probably read her column "Ahead Of The Curve"

The modeling industry is flooded with white models including the plus size sector. It's very rare that we get to see black plus size models, which is why I love to see Chasity. I also love to see Chasity because she is a true curvy girl and a natural beauty.
This month Chasity did a beautiful spread called Luxe at First Sight in Plus Model Magazine's November issue which is also being dubbed their first luxe issue. Chasity's curves reign supreme in a long body skimming dress from Rani Zakhem and fur stole from Redressnyc.

For more on Chasity checkout her Tumblr at http://chasitysaunders.tumblr.com/

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Maria Menounos was spotted looking fall chic in some of Fall's classic and trendy items. Maria rocked a pair of tweed shorts with a classic cropped blazer, a crisp white button up shirt, and a pair of suede wedges. We love that Maria's  look is polished. The tweed shorts add a youthful and fun spin to the simple yet chic ensemble.

SC's Tip- Most people think that plus size women can't wear shorts. As a short wearer myself, I can attest to the fact that we can.  You can see my tweed short look HERE. Tweed shorts are perfect for fall and look just as polished when paired with opaque tights. When searching for shorts make sure to buy the size that fits the largest part of your lower half. You can always go to a tailor for a little nip and tuck.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Today's at the office look was all about my striped blazer. For the office, I love wearing that one standout or special piece with basics. I decided to wear the striped blazer with my ruffle neck blouse I scored two years ago from the Norma Kamali line at Walmart. The sheer blouse is still holding up. I don't get to wear my paper bag waist pants much so I dusted them off and threw it on with the blouse tucked in. I know you guys are probably sick of my red suede pumps. I can't help it. They just seem to go with everything. I'm wearing these like I did my fuchsia BCBG pumps in the summer. I accessorized with some silver jewelry. The earrings are from Aldo's and the necklace and watch are from Avenue.

I try not to take my tripod with me to work because it just becomes too much in the city during lunch and it's even worse after work. Everyone stops and asks 20 questions and then I start to feel uncomfortable.  Luckily my sister works two blocks away from me and agreed to meet me for lunch and take my outfit pictures. She was nice today, but on other days it's like pulling teeth. I know, a fashion blogger's blues.

I wanted today's pictures to seem more real than too posed. I asked my sister to follow me on my lunch break so you can see how I move in my clothes. I'm still posing, but it's hard not too.

I had to catch a cab to go pick up something for my boss

On my way back, I stopped at the newsstand to see what new December magazine's were out

Then my sis and I grabbed a salad. Totally posing in this picture. Come on, who smiles while pulling a salad out of the bag.
What did you wear to work today? Send in your pictures. I love to see what others wear to work. email them to stylishcurves@gmail.com so you can be featured on the blog.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Because it's so easy to go out and buy something new when I get bored with my wardrobe, I'm always looking for effortless and frugal ways to remix  my clothes. I like to keep my wardrobe filled with basic styles because those are the easiest to really mix and match things with. Lately I've been looking for ways to liven up my classic button up shirts to create a fresh look. Over the summer I saw a picture of Elizabeth Olsen in a sheer button up blouse with a short statement necklace under the collar. I thought the necklace gave her entire outfit a refreshing look. It was so chic, modern, and exactly the inspiration I needed to add a little flavor to my button up shirts.

The statement necklace with collard shirts are nothing new but like everything else in fashion what's old is new again.

Have you tried or will you be trying this look?
