Hey curvy girls all over the world,
When one goes the others will follow. UK site Very.com is now available in the us. For those of you who don't know, Very.com is an online store that sells women and men's clothing. They are very similar to ASOS since they carry a variety of brands and they offer styles in the latest trends. What's even better is that not only do they sell misses sizes, they offer stylish plus size clothes up to a size 28. The even have a pretty stylish selection for maternity and tall. Very also has a sports section for both men and women where they sell sports gear from cycling to football.

Shipping to the United States is $8.99 and takes about 5 days. To get to know Very a little more checkout their site at www.very.com Currently they are offering 20% off the site.

Take a look at a few pieces from the site:

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
This weekend I dug out one of my favorite skirts that I got from Loft 2 years ago. I used to love this skirt and wore it all the time during the warm weather months. The first time I debuted it I wore it with a white blazer (Seen here) and then the second time I rocked it with a utility vest (Seen here). I figured I would bring it out for fall and thought a black turtleneck and leather zippered jacket would be a cool and different way to wear the skirt.

Right now I am obsessed with silver accessories and these hoops and silver plated tribal necklace from Forever21 have become my go to accessories.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Yesterday, I posted this picture of Jill Scott wearing what looks like a feathered dress to the Soul Train awards. Reader Asha tweeted me and asked if  I knew where she got it from. I told Asha I was already on the case. Unfortunately, I could not get any confirmation as to where Jill Scott got this feathered dress. Nevertheless, I did do some digging and I think I found the equivalent to what Miss Scott is wearing.

I believe that this Michael Michael Kors feather trim dress is what Jill is wearing and if it is not, it comes pretty close.  The dress is available at Nordstrom for $186 which is a 50% discount from the original price of $375. The dress only goes up to a size 16. However, it is a poly blend with Spandex so I'm quite sure a plus size curvy girl above a size 16 can do like Tim Gunn says and make it work. Hey, Jill did, hence the buttoned up tuxedo jacket over the dress.
Hopefully, a plus size brand or designer can become inspired and create something like this for those of us who are over a size 16. Fingers crossed!

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Can I just tell you how in love I am with my Michael Kors snakeskin print skirt. The fit is amazing. I'm one of those girls who has a round tummy and this skirt totally hides it. I've worn this skirt numerous times. It looks beatnik chic with a black turtleneck, and about a week ago, I wore it with a red tie neck blouse. I decided to wear the skirt again, but this time with a sheer ruffled blouse.
While looking through my coat closet, I found this almost 10 year old red cashmere wool coat that I got from H&M when they first came to the states. It was hanging in the back of the closet, still in good condition. I had forgotten all about it. Mainly, because I can no longer fit it. I remember when I first bought it. I was a sophomore in college. This was when H&M actually had a plus size section and the tag used to read Hennes &  Maurtiz. This is also back when H&M used to carry and abundance of size 16's in there straight line. The coat came with an oversized red flower pinned to it, but I lost it and replaced it with a black one.

Seeing this coat just brought back so many good H&M shopping memories that I thought it would be the perfect topper for my snakeskin skirt and sheer blouse. Too bad I can't button it all the way up any more but, it can still serve as a duster on those 60 degree weather days.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Magazines are in love with Rachel Bilson's personal style. Rachel's style is a little bit quirky, edgy, and girly. Her personal style choices have garnered her a monthly advice column in InStyle magazine, where she dishes her advice on how to's and what to wear questions. Recently, the style star graced the cover of Nylon magazine and instead of wearing a sexy tight dress or going super glam to the cover celebration, the "Hart of Dixie" star rocked a cool edgy ensemble that consisted of a metallic jacket, boyfriend jeans, pointy toe black heels, a floppy hat, and an oversize clutch. That's what we love about her style, it is always true to who she is and she never tries too hard.

I thought this would be an interesting look for us plus size curvy girls to try so in true SC fashion, I found key pieces so that you can get this celebrity style for your plus size curves.

A metallic jacket is a stunner piece on it's own. It just adds a bit of glam to anything you pair it with. Try this zip front style jacket from Michael Kors Plus. It's a great layering piece and it goes up to a size 24W

Boyfriend jeans, what girl doesn't own a pair yet. The mix of metallic with a casual pair of jeans makes the jacket not so precious. Levis has a great pair of boyfriend jeans for the girls with a little junk in the trunk. They also go up to a size 24W.

Wide Brim hats are very popular this fall season and can go with anything as casual as jeans to a cute little knit dress.
Aren't you glad pointy toe heels are back? We love these classic patent leather pair. So Sex And The City season 4&5. These pointy toes from Kate Spade come in an assortment of colors.

An oversized clutch makes any outfit. We like the suede because it's a nice break from leather and softens up the look. Checkout this suede clutch with leather lacing.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Knit sweater dresses are a fall staple. They are perfect for dressing up and dressing down. I found this striped knit sweater dress at H&M while lunch break shopping. I know everyone says that plus size girls shouldn't wear horizontal stripes but you already know how I feel about that foolish rule. I love the wide stripes on this dress because it enhances my curves.
Since sweater dresses cling to the body it's important to wear the right undergarments to create a smooth look. Instead of Spanx, I chose to wear control top tights to hold all my jelly in. To compliment the dress I threw on my knee high suede boots from Michael Antonio, my fave cropped leather jacket from Torrid, a pair of gold hoops, and an infinity scarf from Forever 21.
Have you bought your sweater dress yet?

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
The photos have been rolling in and we are back with another stylish curvy girl of the day. Today's stylish curves of the day is Finichia from Atlanta, GA by way of Salt Lake City, Utah. I guess you can say she's repping for curvy girls in two states. When it comes to embracing her curves here's what Finichia had to say:

I embrace my curves by accepting EVERYTHING about my body flaws and all. I love to dress up and really choose clothes that are flattering to my body.
I feel when you look good you feel good. This is also probably the best fashion advise I can give as well. Know your body and what compliments it best. It doesn't matter if your a size 2 or a 22.

I think I heard Joan Rivers say it best " Just because it zips, doesn't mean it fits" ...LOL.

My second piece of advise would be that accessories are the key!!!

They can really take your outfit to the next level. Play around with brooches, scarves, jewelry, glasses, shoes, and even nail polish colors!!
Finichia recently started her own blog www.fancycurves.com. Go check it out and show this curvy girl some love.

Thanks Finichia for sending in your pics. I love that multi colored blazer and leather skirt outfit. Werk!

What do you think of Finichia's style?

If you would like to be featured as Stylish Curves of the day, send 3-6 full length photos of your best looks to stylishcurves@gmail.com along with your city, state, and a blurb about how you embrace your curves.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
One of my favorite plus size boutiques in Brooklyn, Redressnyc will be closing their doors. If you have ever made a visit to NYC and had the opportunity to shop Redress and encounter the pleasant and fun fat girl loving vibe from the shop girls then you too are saddened by this news. This weekend Redress is bowing out with their Indie designer show and shopping event. Tickets for the Indie show are sold out but you can still shop Redressnyc Friday and Saturday to get your hands on some really good independent plus size designers like Big Girls United, Sweettooth Couture, Domino Dollhouse, and a host of other indie designers.

Although Redress is closing it's physical doors, they will be selling merchandise via their online website. So, if you're in the NYC area show Deb and the shop girls some love and say your goodbye's to a Brooklyn Gem.

For more information checkout their website at www.redressnyc.com

I will definitely miss you guys.

Throwback photo when Redress made me an honorary shop girl for the day. Checkout that post here

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Today I decided to wear my leather panel dress that I got from Macy's last week. The dress was a little longer than I expected. I thought it was going to hit about 2 more inches above the knee and instead it hits directly at the knee. It's nothing that my tailor can't fix. I personally like my skirts and dresses short but at the knee works well for the office. I rocked the dress with my leopard print ankle boots from Nine West, a gold multi chain necklace from Forever21 and a pair of chandelier earrings I stole from my mom. I felt quite sharp and in charge today I don't know if it was the all black or the the leopard print booties.

Hope you guys have a fabulous day.
