Hey curvy girls all over the world,
One of the reasons I love social media is for its immediate access to pretty much anything. This morning while putting in my social media time on Facebook I came across gorgeous model Allison McGevna rocking an African print pencil skirt. I had to find out where she got it from and low and behold, I found that it is part of a debut collection for a brand called Rue 114.

I immediately checked their site and found more fashion forward curve friendly pieces. So, who is Rue 114? Creative Director and founder Serwah Asante says that, Rue 114 is inspired by and created for women who believe that every shape and size should be celebrated as beautiful." Don't you just love that?

Serwah's African inspired line comes in sizes Small-2X and 2-24. The collection boasts signature African printed dresses and skirts and curve skimming silhouettes all with a touch of class and sass. The styles are promising and leaves us intrigued to see how this label blossoms.

Checkout the capsule collection debut for yourself by visiting Rue 114  Also, they are currently offering 10% off with code Ruelove.

What do you think about Rue 114's debut collection?
Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Today's look is nothing special. It's a jeans and blazer kind of day. When it comes to denim, my favorite style is skinny jeans. they're just perfect in every way. To make my casual Tuesday look feel a little special, I had to rock my leopard print ankle boots from Nine West. I've had them for months and only wore them once.
Ok, so this post is really about my boots.

Hope you guys are having a wonderful day.

Also, please follow me on Tumblr for more non blog looks and beautiful photos of dark skinned chicks. My Tumblr is Miss Chocolate Supreme

What I'm wearing:
Sweater-Banana Republic
Skinny Jeans-Faith21 Plus
Blazer- Old Navy
Boots-Nine West
Watch-Michael Kors

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
So, I've been out of the loop for a minute on keeping you up to date with the hottest plus size fashion. To make up for it, here are 3 plus size spring collections that we can't wait to get our hands on and rock the heck out of them this spring season.

MONIF C.

First up is none other than Monif C. Yes the Mo has done it again with another colorful curve hugging collection. This spring Monif zeroed in on the color blocking trend by creating curve skimming exposed zipper dresses and she continued with the color blocking on over to her famed convertible dresses. Items are set to be available in March. Pre-order your fave pieces now because if you don't know Monif C. sells out fast.
Checkout the rest of the line HERE

Carmakoma
Carmakoma always does an excellent job of mixing edge pieces with feminine. This spring they went for a color palette of black, white, and blush with a pop of cobalt blue. We love how their models always look like they're about to kick your butt. Checkout more at www.carmakoma.com

For those of you with that bohemian vibe then checkout print queen Anna Scholz's black label for clothes that are comfy, relaxed, but still offer a bit of glam.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
I will soon be taking a mini hiatus from apparel shopping to focus on updating my home. Before I do that, I have been thinking about adding more bold pieces to my current fall/winter wardrobe that will add a little more flavor to my everyday looks. Currently I have been lusting after feminine pieces with personality. I'm normally all about classic silhouettes with clean lines but I want to slightly change the direction of my personal style by adding more prints and interesting details.

While cruising the Dorothy Perkins site I cam across two dresses that will keep me looking chic at the office and during happy hour.

This color blocked draped dress is on trend and has a flattering silhouette. It will serve as a nice detour from simple wrap dresses.

This year I will be embracing my inner flower girl with feminine floral dresses that give a grown up look. This flutter sleeve belted A-line dress will be great for fashion events and an update from bland shift dresses.

Continuing with bold prints this cardigan is wonderful for layering and making and spicing up a basic look. The print is sharp and alluring.

A few post back I told you that peplum is a hot trend right now. This peplum skirt from ASOS is a great option for work as well as a night out with the girls. It's a step up from the classic pencil skirt.

I don't know about you but I always feel like I wear down my black heels. I love an all black heel with a twist. These gold studded patent leather heels will add a bit of edge to whatever I rock them with.

Colored jeans are also a popular trend. These spicy red jeggings from Old Navy are fun and playful. I can finally give my blue denim a rest.

I'm also looking to punch things up with accessories. Colorful stacked bracelets will make any of my looks pop.

Tory Burch's gold logo tote will add sophistication and ease to any outfit.

Well, there you have it. The pieces that I'm coveting and hoping to wake up my wardrobe.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
I know I've been missing in action. I'm hoping this week, I can get things back on track. I'm working on some giveaways and fun posts for you this week so stay tuned.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Today was a roller coaster ride with the weather. One minute it's unseasonably warm, the next minute it's cloudy and raining, and then all of a sudden the sun pops out. What's up with that? I don't want to complain because it's only mid January and I'm thankful that no snow has fallen. While the weather couldn't make up it's mind neither could I when it came to getting dressed today for work.
I've really been sticking to my limited shopping rule and recreating looks with the clothes that are already in my closet. I've only been buying accessories and interesting pieces to update my wardrobe.
I wanted an easy look to throw on in this complicated weather so I went for a New York City girl look and rocked all black. After pacing for about 5 minutes I reached for my polka dot top from Faith21 and my leather skirt from One Stop Plus for a simple chic New York working girl look.
I topped off my look with my double breasted wool Guess coat and suede ankle boots from Bakers. Since my look was all black, you know I needed a pop of color. I opted to rock out in my new red leather gloves that I scored at Century21. Colorful or patterned gloves are a fantastic and fun way to add spice to a simple winter coat.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
We are kicking off this Tuesday with Stylish Curves of the Day. Representing for the curvy girls in  Alabama  we have Kelleashia. When it comes to embracing her curves here's what she has to say,
My name is Kelleashia and I'm from Alabama.  I learned along time ago from my mom how to love and embrace my body.
If I were to describe my personal style I would say I'm trendy fab, trendy because I love keeping up with the latest fashion trend and fab because I put my own twist (oomph) on them!
I recently started my own blog and it offers everything from OOTD/OOTN, my natural hair journey, and everyday fashion finds. My blog is http://kellymonroe.blogspot.com.

Thanks Kelleashia! I love the little black dress and green suede shoes outfit. Super chic.

What do you guys think of Kelleashia's style?

If you would like to be featured as Stylish Curves of The Day send 3-6 full length photos of your best looks with a blurb about how you embrace your curves and where you're from to stylishcurves@gmail.com

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
This weekend was full of award shows and some of our favorite curvy and plus size celebrities came out to represent for the girls with a little meat on their bones. Let's take a look at who showed up and showed out.
Over at the Golden Globes resident red carpet walkers Amber Riley and Queen Latifah went for curve hugging gowns. Amber Chose a red ruffled sweetheart neckline dress by Bagdley Mishcka.

Queen Latifah rocked her signature one shoulder gown but went for a silver hue.

Melissa McCarthy also wore a dark green gold trim gown which was not right for her. I would've liked a brighter color.

It looks like Jill Scott likes the combination of furs and gowns because at the BET Honors she rocked a red beaded gown and chocolate fur coat similar to the look she wore for VH1 Diva's Live.

Last but not least we have Jordin Sparks at the Critics Choice Movie awards in an all black sparkly number with ruching at the waist.

Which celebrity worked it for you?

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Hope everyone is having a great start to the weekend. This week has been super busy for me. I am going to just chill out at home and catch up on some domestic duties. This is one of the outfits I wore to work this week. I layered my white Jones New York button up shirt under a H&M merino wool v-neck sweater and threw my Calvin Klein blazer over it. I know cobalt blue jeans are unconventional for the office but wearing them with neutral colors in classic styles made it work appropriate for me. I completed my look with a pair of leopard print heels from Bakers shoes and an old Coach briefcase that my mom gave me when I got my first real 9-5 job out of college. It's a classic.

Have a wonderful weekend and stay warm.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Yesterday reader Charlese sent SC an email asking the following:
How are you? I am in need of a dress to wear to BET Honors this weekend. I am a size 16. It should be very formal but not, overly expensive. Can you please HELP???

Thanks for the email Charlese. BET Honors! This weekend! Oh boy! To find a super dupa fly dress in such little time will take a lot of leg work on your part. I would suggest hitting up Monif C. for one of her holiday spectacular dresses for the awards show. Right now, Monif C. is having an awesome sale on her holiday dresses in which many are under $200. You will probably be able to hit up her showroom in NYC or call and see if you can work in an overnight delivery.

Igigi also makes chic evening dresses and this Igigi sequin draped jersey dress is a stunner and also under $200.

Try taking an arly morning trip to your local Torrid or Fashion to Figure. Currently Torrid carries old hollywood retro dresses from Stop Staring

I would also hit up your local department stores like Macy's and Bloomingdales. Right now a number of stores are having their winter clearance so I'm quite sure you would be able to find a pretty rocking dress for a great deal.

Our favorite brands that make formal evening dresses are Donna Morgan, Adriana Papell , and JS Boutique. Which all can be found at Macy's, Nordstrom, or Bloomy's.

Other options would be Eloquii which is currently having 40% off

And of course ASOS Curve which is having 70% off sale items which include tons of evening appropriate dresses.
Hope this helps and pleassssse take pictures and send them in.
