The Jason Wu for Target lookbook has been released and um, we have our sneakers and leggings ready by the door to run to Target and snatch up just about every piece. Every look in this collection is playful, feminine, colorful, and just plain old chic. This is probably one of the most wearable collections that we've ever seen from Targets designer collaborations. This collection consists of everything from brightly colored woven shirts, striped full skirts and dresses to structured totes and clutches.
What we like about Jason's collection is that it's realistic for everyday life. We could see ourselves going to work, school, running errands, having lunch or even sipping on a cocktail in anyone of these looks. The Jason Wu for Target collection hits stores on February 9th- March 6th and the prices range from a whopping $19.99-$49.99.
No the collection does not come in plus but most Target collaborations go up to a size 14. As I've preached numerous times on this blog sometimes you have to look at the cut of the clothes and the fabric it's made with because you never know what might fit. This collection actually looks forgiving with the full skirts and dresses so it's worth a try in our opinion.
In creating this collection designer Jason Wu said, "My goal was not to duplicate anything from my main collection... Instead I designed completely new clothes and accessories that reflect my taste and have a voice of their own."
All we have to say is when will Target find the first plus size designer collaboration. Are there any takers?

do they come in plus sizes. that model looks like a size zero. sadly i can't see any of that stuff coming in a size that would fit me.
@anonymous-no the clothes don't come in plus sizes however many of the pieces do look forgiving to fit a size 14-16. I have quite a few pieces from Targets designer collections and the fit has been fine to me. Plus size brands don't even use plus size models so you can't really tell how the clothes will look on your body based on the model. I am a big believer in trying on before saying something is not going to fit.
sadly i'm a size 22 not a 14/16 so i'm pretty sure that leaves me and many other size 18/20/22/24 plus size gals out. most designers don't design for us bigger gals. that's all i meant. i'm glad it will fit smaller plus size women though. good to know. the styles are fab.

@Anonymous- I understand and hear you. I am a size 18/20 and I wear everything from plus designers to straight size designers. I do think it's unfortunate and unfair. However I do try to show on this blog how to make non plus size designer looks work for plus size women. Since there are plus size brands out there who are starting to make fashion forward clothes I make sure I do features like celebrity and designer looks for plus size curves. I sincerely hope this post didn't offend you. My apologies if it did. I do believe in celebrating all sizes.
Hmm. I wonder if this will make its way to Target Australia. I really like that white dress and i don't mind picking up a trench coat as well

I wear anything from an 18 to 24 in clothes and have had some luck with coats in XL from the Target collections. The red striped jersey dress looks promising for plus sizes.
Target did offer plus sizes this summer, with Calypso St. Barth, although that's not a "designer line" per se, more of an upscale resort line. However, I found the plus too big for me, which was a shock.
If the full skirted things are knit, I may be willing to give them a try.

I don't think I can fit my 18/20 top and 22/24 bottom into something that might fit a 14/16 which by the way I do not consider plus size. I never buy anything for me in Target simply because they don't carry a large enough plus department even in their regular clothes nevermind a designer collection. I do buy lots for my daughter though. They are missing out on a whole lot of sales by leaving bigger plus size women out.
I love the blue dress! I just got some shoes from the saba fashion online store and I think this will be a perfect match.
