SIX SUPER CHIC PLUS SIZE SPRING STYLES FROM AVENUE

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Out of all the chain plus size stores I feel that Avenue has tons of hidden fashion gems. I can't tell you how many times that I've gone into the store or on their website and found loads of fashion forward pieces. Last year, I wrote an article about how they've changed their look and started to carry more on trend styles (read here). While they are still going strong, I have to say they need a little help in the display department. There is an Avenue store near my office on Third Avenue. I literally go in there about three times a week. The way their mannequins are styled never truly pulls you in to try on the clothes. However, if you take the time and actually walk through the store you will be pleasantly surprised at the number of pieces that you will actually like.

So, in true SC fashion we came across six chic pieces that you would probably never guess would be at Avenue.

What do you think?

Tie Front Kimono Dress
Kimono Top
Batwing Colorblocked Dress
Colored Denim
Sateen Stretch Pink Blazer
Asymmetrical Hem Skirt

I have an Avenue near where I live and usually my main reason for going is to buy shoes (one of the few plus size stores to offer wide shoes that look somewhat trendy). But, just like you, there have been times when I'm pleasantly surprised to see some cute, fashion-forward pieces.

I'm really diggin' the pink blazer, blue skirt and the colorblock dress.

I get LOTS of stuff from there. It's one of my best kept secrets. And people are always asking me where I got things & being shocked when I tell them. They've DEFINITELY grown a lot in recent times.

I shop at the Avenue a lot. I know what you mean about not knowing what to expect but they have been doing a great job lately. And every Avenue store is not created equal, some have better merchandise than others.

Ditto to what Maisha said. The Avenue can be hit or miss. Here where I live I tend to see clothing for the older generation and no trendy or hip clothing :(
