STYLE JOURNEY: AT THE OFFICE

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
I have a confession to make. I am a huge fan of Michael Kors plus size line but I hate that he really doesn't show the plus size community love. Does that make me a hypocrite for buying his clothes? I don't know. Plus size bridge lines have gotten so much better. The styles and cuts are better than they've ever been before. I've always been a fan of Michael Kors.
I have bags, watches, and dresses to prove it. I often struggle inside with buying from designers like Michael Kors because besides making clothes for plus, the brand could careless about plus size women. There are never any plus size
lookbook or even so much as a low budget campaign with plus size models. What's up with that?
Two weeks ago I was shopping Bloomingdales plus size section on 59th street and I came across this chic (I promise to stop using this word) detailed cobalt blue dress sitting all by its lonesome on a sale rack. I scooped it up before anyone else could see me and when I tried it on it fit like a glove. I liked this dress for two reasons. One it's perfect for work and I can wear it after work for dinner and drinks. You know I love clothes that work double duty. The second reason I liked this dress was because of the color and the twist detail on the side. You can never go wrong with a simple dress that has interesting details.
Today was my first day taking the dress for a spin. I teamed it up with my colorblock cap toe pumps from Vince Camuto. I liked how the shoes color combination worked well with the color of the dress. I wore a blazer with it to work because I didn't want to show off too much booty at the office but after work, is another thing.

What I'm Wearing
Dress: Michael Kors (Get it here)
Shoes: Vince Camuto (similar here)
Snakeskin cuff: Charlotte Russe (gifted)
Blue cuff: Loft

Great dress. The tie/small ruching(sp?) in the front is smart because it really will flatter any plus size girl and will help define our shape.

I, too, am a MK fan. More for his watches and bags, though. From time to time, I see some very nice dresses. I was not aware that he does not promote his plus size line as much as he does his straight size. Bummer.

So this week, in homage to the locomotive, we've picked out a few rail journeys that inspired us. They may not have the elegance of South Africa's Blue Train or the history of the Venice-Simplon Orient Express, but they certainly got us scribbling in our notebooks.

That looks fantastic on you!!! I saw that dress online and even though I want it, two things stop me from getting it: (1) I already have a dress in that color (2) I already have a dress with almost that exact same cut - except it's black and white polka dots. Maybe if it goes on sale, but for now I'm trying to exercise self-restraint.
