6 STYLE TIPS PLUS SIZE WOMEN CAN LEARN FROM KIM KARDASHIAN

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Whether you love her or hate her you can't deny Kim K's sexy chic wardrobe. Kim has the coveted hourglass shape. Ample bosom, a small waist, and full hips. No, she's not plus size or no where near it but in a society that's all about thin girls, Kim K's curves and how she dresses them has us smitten with her style. So, what can a plus size girl learn from Reality TV's biggest star? Well, in my opinion there's loads of style tips we can take away from the dark haired beauty.

Here's 6 of them:

1. Embrace Your Plus Size Curves In Classic Styles and Cuts
There are still quite a few plus size women who are afraid to wear anything that shows off their shape. Curve hugging silhouettes are in many ways liberating. It's telling the world that you love and embrace your body. When it comes to Kim K's style you can always find her in classic styles that are impeccably tailored to her shape. She knows how to work a pencil skirt, shift dresses, and body con dresses. You don't have to go as form fitting as Kim does but it's important to have tailored looks. It does wonders for your plus size shape.

2. Don't Be Afraid Of Bold Prints
Prints, prints, prints. Last fall, Kim K. stunned in a houndstooth print dress from Salvatore Ferragamo. While there were mixed reviews about the dress on her curvy figure. I thought she looked quite hot in it. Whether you're plus size or not, prints can be intimidating. You can seriously rack your brain on what size is right for your shape. Contrary to popular belief a myriad of plus size women love prints. Some women like them loud and bold and others like them small. There is also a percentage of plus size women who fear that prints will make them look bigger. As I always say it's all about finding the right size and style for your shape. Prints are a fun way to invigorate your wardrobe. So don't be afraid to try an all over print dress. If that's too much try a printed skirt.

3. When In Doubt, Belt It
I can only imagine the massive assortment of belts that Kim probably has in her closet. Kim always accentuates her waist with a belt. It's very rare that you see her without a belt whenever she wears dresses and skirts. Belts are an accessory that every plus size woman should have in her closet. Yes, it creates or plays up a waist, but it also adds a little flavor to your outfit. You can have fun by choosing a super sized belt with a huge buckle or you can keep it classic with the basic sleek medium sized belt. Use belts to jazz up your looks. Try studded, colored, or skinny styles.

4. Stock Up On Jeans And Blazers
When Kim's not on the red carpet and is just running errands or doing some shopping, you can almost always catch her in a pair of  jeans and a cool blazer. The classic combo is will never go out of style and is an instant way to keep your plus size figure looking polished and on trend. This season colored denim is reigning supreme and so are colorful blazers.

5. Always Look Camera Ready
Whether you like a full beaten face or you like to keep your makeup lo-key you should always look presentable when out and about in the street. How many bad photo ops have you seen of  Kim K? Yeah, that's what I thought, none. For red carpet, Kim likes to keep it glam with full on lashes and a smokey eye. On her off days she stays with a nude lip and heavy mascara. Try and adopt your own makeup routine that makes you look and feel your best. You never know who you may meet in the street or who may want to take your picture. Always put your best face forward.

6. Don't be afraid to change up your look

Whether it relates to your personal life or fashion, I think it's human nature to stick with what you know. One of the things I like about Kim K is that she's not afraid to try new looks. Remember when she broke up with Reggie and she dyed her hair blonde for a few weeks? Or when she opted for a short bob style at the Much Music Video Awards in Toronto. Most recently we saw Kimmy without heels or her sketchers and rocking a pair of Air Jordan's. You get the point. Don't be afraid to change up your style. Even if you make a few style mistakes, it's okay. You will never know what really works for you unless you try new things.

No matter your shape or size you should always wear things that make you look and feel AMAZING.

Your right.
This chick does understand her shape. I do love that. She knows how to dress towards flattering her figure. Even though she lies and says her ass is real and that she wears a size 2...
liar.

I love this. I love me some Kimmy as far as fashion goes. Lots of times, I look to her (and her sisters) for inspiration whether it be color, shape, accessories, make-up, they just seem to have it together. I love that you said choose tailored things, just because you want to show where your waist is, or how succulent your breasts are does not mean you are afraid of wearing something billowy. Some women love to accentuate their curves and body no matter what the type, and as long as you feel great in what you're wearing, that's all that matters. I love this post, taking notes!

"You will never know what really works for you unless you try new things."

This is my mantra for 2012! Thanks to Stylish Curves I'm breaking out of my 'Plain Jane' style rut and trying some of everything instead of relying on what works. I'm also learning how to apply makeup and what colors/ looks work for me.

Thanks for another great article!

Great post! You know, one time I was watching Keeping Up with the Kardashians and she was in the kitchen with Kourtney making breakfast . . . wearing a pretty basic face of makeup and a lounger that was basically a maxidress. That really struck me because even though she was just chillin' around the house on a Saturday, she put together a comfy but cute look. Now, of course, it could've been because she knew the cameras would be there, but still. I may not particularly like her as a person, but as a style maven she tops the list!
