Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Last year, I spotted a picture of Solange Knowles in a canary yellow suit for a Carol's Daughter product launch event. Ever since I saw her in it, it has been my mission to find a colored suit.
I thought she looked so beautiful and chic. I had to have a colored suit, but, where could I find one that was modern and came in plus? Well, I searched hi and low and came up empty handed until a few months ago. I happened to be doing a lunch break shopping when I stopped into the Avenue store on Third Avenue on the East Side in Manhattan.
When I walked into the Third Avenue store, I spotted a mannequin with a white suit on, but it didn't entice me. I started searching the racks and I came across a pink one button blazer, I snatched it off the rack and to my surprise, while taking the blazer from the hanger, I spotted a matching pair of pink pants. No, could it be? Did I just find a matching pant and jacket in pink??? I scurried into the fitting room and literally jumped up and down at how goo and well the pants and jacket fit. I went  back to the office, searched for an Avenue coupon on line and got the pants and jacket for just $85.

The suit sat in the closet for about two months because I wanted to wear it somewhere kind of special. I thought it would be the perfect outfit for the Shop & Swap. I knew the place was going to be dark and I said to myself, I am going to wear this to standout so my readers can notice me.

The suit made me feel so classy. The only thing I wish is that it didn't have so much stretch in it or I just could have gone down a size because by the end of the night my pants were kind of droopy.

Once again ladies, don't be afraid of bright colors. You don't have to go full on pink suit like me, but embrace color this summer. Whether it be with shoes, a top, or jacket, find a color that flatters your skin and embrace it.

By the way, the shop & swap was great and it was so nice to meet you guys who came out to support. I almost sold out of everything. Here are a few photos but more pics are on Facebook.

Shout out to Cece from The Big Girl Blog who took pictures for me and was such a great help with customers and just being a good blogging buddy.

I branded my own bags with my logo

Made quite a few sales

Made my own price tags too

More readers shopping.

By the end of the night, I was all sweaty and tired
