Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Today, I thought to myself, what does one wear for a breezy night out that doesn't require spanx or a thong. Then it hit me. Shorts! On this breezy spring night, I wanted to sport an outfit that was equal parts chic and sexy. When I think of leather in the spring and summer, I always think about a scene in Waiting to Exhale when Lela Rochon's character Robin tells her drug addicted boyfriend Troy, who had on a leather vest to get his leather wearing in the summertime, need a shave, stinky ass out of here. I thought it was one of the funniest scenes in the movies. It also made me make a mental note, never to wear leather in the summertime.
Rocking leather in warm temperature can be a bit tricky and to some, like Lela Rochon's character Robin, it shouldn't be done at all. I personally am ok with leather in the warmer months if the weather is breezy. This season, it seems as if leather in the spring time is a go. I spotted leather skirts and shorts on the runways of Paris fashion week and I figured, hey, if its cool in Paris then its a go. Now, if you remember, I wore these shorts back in February (Seen Here). However, it made more sense then because I threw on some tights and ankle boots to make them cold weather appropriate.
I took a risk rocking them for an evening look, but its 70 degrees and breezy. So, I think I'm ok. I'm a fan of remixing my wardrobe, so, I thought it would be pretty cool to team the shorts up with my sheer polka dot tie neck blouse and my red blazer that I wear entirely too much. I wore my favorite black sandals that are a combo of suede and patent leather, popped on some silver bangles and called it a chic night.
