STYLE JOURNEY: FLORALS AND LEATHER

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
This weekend I took a break from Lincoln center and indulged in some fashion week parties. Saturday, I hit up the Curves and Couture (post coming later today) cocktail party hosted by Lianne Farbes and sponsored by Blogher (big news about  me an Blogher post coming out later today). As you all can recall, this weekend was hot and humid with the exception of Sunday. Thank God for Sunday!
To combat the NYC humidity I continued with my slicked back pony tail. I must say that I am enjoying not having to curl my hair. I am also embracing my full round face. When you have a round face people are always telling you to go for long hair or a hair cut on the angle but sometimes I want to embrace my round face and cheeks.

Since I was attending the Curves and Couture cocktail party, I wanted to go for a different look. I wanted a trendy look that was still me. I saw this floral shirt at H&M in the plus section. The colors are what attracted me to it. I thought a cool yet simplistic pairing would be to wear the top with a leather skirt. Again, Simply Be came to the rescue and I teamed the floral top with Simply Be's faux leather skirt.
To add my own personal flair, I wore my yellow suede ankle strap heels and my oversized gold link necklace to complete my trendy yet chic look.

What do you guys think?
