Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Just wanted to share with you some new purchases. Spring is truly on my mind. The sad part is that winter has only just begun. While window shopping last week, I found this super cute belted sleeveless trench. I had been looking for one since this past summer. You know how the saying goes. You will find what you're looking for when you aren't searching for it. I was so happy that I spotted it and snatched it up quickly. You won't believe that I spotted this baby at Old Navy. They have really reeled me in as a consumer. You can purchase it online HERE

I also took a tour into Forever21 to find some cute accessories and this aqua blue beaded necklace caught my eye. I think it would look great up against a collard shirt or color blocked with a cute little dress. You can see a similar one HERE

My other purchases was this denim distressed vest I found at Forever21. Once again, I had been dying for a denim vest since the summer but they were always sold out in my size. You know the trendy stuff is always likely to be sold out in plus sizes. When I saw it online I jumped at it immediately. Get a similar one HERE. I also purchased a pair of blue suede sandals from Piperlime's Lime Tag sale. They are by Vince Camuto and I seriously was eyeing them since the beginning of fall and knew that they would go on sale so, I waited and they did. You can get them HERE

The second pair of shoes were the shoes I won from Bakers Shoeternity site. You post your look and a team votes if your look was the best of all submissions for the week. I was so glad I won. I submitted the striped skirt outfit seen HERE. I chose the suede color blocked Milo pumps from their website and they are so pretty in person. The photo does no justice. You can see them HERE

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
For the past couple of months I have been quite smitten with leather bottoms. I literally live in my leather skinny pants from Anna Scholz. They have replaced my love for denim skinny jeans. I adore my leather pencil skirt from One Stop Plus and it is my go to skirt for the office. Now my leather obsession continues with these super chic faux leather shorts from Torrid.
I eyed them a few months back but refused to pay full price for them or for anything from Torrid. I knew it would be a gamble to wait for them to go on sale because I assumed that every cutie with a booty would have snatched them up and my size would have been sold out.
Luckily they weren't and I was able to score them for half their original price.

I thought about the myriad of ways I could rock them and settled on a sweet feminine look by marrying them with a sheer feminine tie neck blouse in blush from NY&CO. Yes, the one I wear all the time. The combination was exactly what I was looking for. Soft and kind of hard. These shorts could very much be my new go to piece.
As for accessories I went for a gold and pink pair of triangular earrings from Forever21, stacks of gold bracelets, and my Michael Kors watch.
Suede ankle boots from Bakers and my double breasted pea coat from Guess finished off the look.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Cool girl Cameron Diaz was spotted rocking a Dior dress while attending the labels Couture show. Cameron went for a girlie look with minimal accessories. This look is not Cameron's usual style but hey, celebs are allowed to switch their style up too. We thought her Dior frock was super cute and recreated a similar look with your plus size curves in mind.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
It's kind of rare that we get to see The View's co-host Sherri Shepherd on red carpets. This week the curvy comedian was spotted at the NYC premiere of that Katherine Heigl movie One for the money. Sherri stepped out in a floor grazing chocolate halter neck dress with a tie waist belt.

BTW-I'm loving her hair and makeup
Was she working it or is it back to the drawing board for this curvy cutie?

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
We are back with Stylish Curves of the day. Today we have Sankofa from Harrisburg Pa. When it comes to embracing her curves here's what she has to say:
One day at a time, I do realize that they have helped shape who I am and I welcome them. Often we become obsessed with looking how we did in high school or pre-pregnancy.

As a mother of 2 children my greatest focus is to be healthy so that I can watch my children grow.
My personal style: I would describe my personal style as vintage flair. I love mixing vintage pieces with current trends and creating my own look.
What do I do: I am a poet and an author. I currently have a novel available, 'Devyne Envy' on amazon and where ever books are sold. www.sankofaconcepts.bigcartel.com/ facebook.com/sankofawrites

Thanks Sankofa! That grey sweater and mini is a super cute outfit.
What do you guys think of Sankofa's style?

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
I'm a big fan of motorcycle jackets with party dresses. There is something about that combination that screams rocker chick. The mix of a tough motorcycle jacket and a feminine sexy party dress is striking. It's also a very easy look for a curvy girl to pull off and most importantly find in her size. You can rock a motorcycle jacket over knee length dresses or going for something more on trend by rocking a cropped version with a maxi dress. You will instantly look pulled together and modern.

Checkout 3 examples of the motorcyle jacket and dress look.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
It looks like style guru Stacy London of TLC's hit show What Not To Wear is throwing on her producer hat. Word on the street is the TLC alum will be launching a reality show that follows Brooklyn based plus size boutique owners Lisa and Jim Dolan. Lisa and Jim own Lee Lee's Valise in Brooklyn, NY. They are the first boutique to completely cater to plus size women in New York City. You also may know them from their shop being featured on TLC's What Not Wear anytime the show gets a plus size candidate.

As a Brooklynite, I personally remember when the shop first opened up. I received an email from Kiyonna clothing saying a boutique in Brooklyn carried their clothes. I stopped by the boutique the first week they opened and was so impressed with  the layout and the variety of styles they offered. The stored had everything from apparel to lingerie to handbags, and even offered oversized jewelry. Lisa and Jim had everything covered. Lisa was extremely nice and wanted to get to know her customer. She had such a lively personality. Needless to say, I told everyone I knew about their boutique.

Lisa Dolan-Boutique Owner

It's been over 5 years and Lee Lee's Valise has grown so much and has helped change the lives of so many plus size women who thought they couldn't be stylish. I am so happy for them and they definitely deserve it.

Ok, now more about the show. According to TLC the show will showcase,  "plus-size fashion without the minuses of mainstream retail traditions in TLC’s newest series. Executive produced by WHAT NOT TO WEAR’s fashion authority, Stacy London, with BBC Worldwide Productions, this eight-part series set to premiere in May 2012 will follow husband and wife business owners Lisa and Jim Dolan, as they revise and revolutionize the norms of plus-size shopping experiences in their clothing store, Lee Lee’s Valise. Each episode will focus on three different customers as their intimate shopping experience at the store, combined with Lisa’s distinctive clothing line, helps transform their lives."

TLC is known for intriguing and thought provoking shows. Will you be watching in May?

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
One of the reasons I love social media is for its immediate access to pretty much anything. This morning while putting in my social media time on Facebook I came across gorgeous model Allison McGevna rocking an African print pencil skirt. I had to find out where she got it from and low and behold, I found that it is part of a debut collection for a brand called Rue 114.

I immediately checked their site and found more fashion forward curve friendly pieces. So, who is Rue 114? Creative Director and founder Serwah Asante says that, Rue 114 is inspired by and created for women who believe that every shape and size should be celebrated as beautiful." Don't you just love that?

Serwah's African inspired line comes in sizes Small-2X and 2-24. The collection boasts signature African printed dresses and skirts and curve skimming silhouettes all with a touch of class and sass. The styles are promising and leaves us intrigued to see how this label blossoms.

Checkout the capsule collection debut for yourself by visiting Rue 114  Also, they are currently offering 10% off with code Ruelove.

What do you think about Rue 114's debut collection?
Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Today's look is nothing special. It's a jeans and blazer kind of day. When it comes to denim, my favorite style is skinny jeans. they're just perfect in every way. To make my casual Tuesday look feel a little special, I had to rock my leopard print ankle boots from Nine West. I've had them for months and only wore them once.
Ok, so this post is really about my boots.

Hope you guys are having a wonderful day.

Also, please follow me on Tumblr for more non blog looks and beautiful photos of dark skinned chicks. My Tumblr is Miss Chocolate Supreme

What I'm wearing:
Sweater-Banana Republic
Skinny Jeans-Faith21 Plus
Blazer- Old Navy
Boots-Nine West
Watch-Michael Kors
