Hey curvy girls all over the world,
While running from the office to shows and events, I managed to snap a few shots of some stylish curvy girls. Checkout these curves on the street:

Over at Christian Siriano's fall show, I spied fellow blogger Danielle of The Frugal Fashionista

I spotted Amanda at Walter's Fall preview. She was rocking a top shop dress, necklace, a vintage fur vest, and Kelsi Dagger shoes.

Also at Christian Siriano I spotted a petite and curvy stylista in a sequin dress and fur jacket

More pics and fashion show reviews coming soon so stay tuned.
Hey curvy girls all over the world,
It's here! Monif C. has unveiled her coveted swimwear collection entitled "Escape to Barbados," and it even has a lookbook featuring budding plus size model Denise Bidoe. The Resort 2012 swim collection consists of  animal prints, criss cross styles, mesh, and of course Monif's signature ruching. Like past collections, Monif's 2012 swimwear pushes the envelope when it comes to plus size women embracing their bodies. She continued with 2 pieces but this time she added solid colors. She also brought back the uber sexy fringed one piece, and she is knocking them dead with a leopard mesh one piece suit that is sure to garner major attention.

Monif has a knack for creating swimsuits that are bold, fashion forward, and always flattering. For those plus size women who like a more reserved yet stylish swimsuit, Monif has you covered with a criss cross suit with a peekaboo front. Not only are these swimsuits attractive they are designed with special features like bones on the sides of swimsuits for added bust support and power mesh tummy tuck lining in front and back of swimsuits to help give you your best look.

Doesn't these photos make you want to take a vacation ASAP. You can pre-order styles at Monif C. She sells out quickly so pre-ordering is your best bet.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
February must be the month where curvy plus size girls are taking over. While Adele is holding us down by covering US Vogue, plus size model Tara Lynn is holding us down in France. For a second time Tara Lynn graces the March cover of French Elle. Not only is it an honor for a plus size model to grace the cover of a major fashion magazine, they've even went as far as calling Tara Lynn "The Body." A titled once held by Heidi Klum.

Tara Lynn is probably the most fuller figured of all the mainstream plus size models. She is thicker than the average working plus size model. As always this is a great thing for the plus size community. Let's hope they start to include more plus size fashion inside the magazine even when a plus size woman is not on the cover.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Last week was a whirlwind of parties and fashion shows. I jump started fashion week by with a personal invite to attend a special Blogher style luncheon hosted by Kathryn Finney of The Budget Fashionista and Blogher. Kathryn is the new Edito at Large for Blogher. The luncheon brought together some of the who's who of the blogging and magazine world. I was so happy that I was invited by Kathry Finney to attend this luncheon because I had a ball. It was rough getting there ( I was late) but I made it just in time to enjoy the fantastic food and sip on a number of cocktails.

It was the perfect starter to MBFW and a wonderful opportunity to chat with women who inspire me to be the best fashion writer I can be. Take a look at a few pictures from the event.
I got to take a picture with two inspirational women Kathryn Finney of  The Budget Fashionista and Patrice of Afrobella

Kathryn was such a gracious and entertaining hostess. She introduced each guest by going around the room and telling some fun facts about each guest and what they meant to her.
I spied Jenni of DIY

Toasting to meeting new people
Food and drinks were on point.

This pretty little gift was awaiting us when we sat down

Inside the purple little box was a beautiful vintage mirror

We all took a group shot at the end of the event

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
It looks like straight sized designers are trying to attract the plus size dollar in every apparel realm. Michael Kors, who is no stranger to making plus size clothing is now dabbling in plus size swimwear. A small collection of  shirred bandini tops, skirted bottoms, and printed one pieces in a neutral color palette of black, white and brown. The swimwear line is constructed of ruching and cinch ties at the side. It also includes a printed draped cover up.

These swimsuits are no Monif C or Sorella Swim. Nevertheless, they are universally flattering cuts and the effort to create another plus size swimwear collection is appreciated. I'm sure there will be more styles to come.

The collection is priced from $64-152 and is available at Bloomingdales

What do you think about Michael Kors Plus Size swim collection?

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Last night's 54th Annual Grammy Awards brought out some of our favorite plus size and curvy celebrities. Let's take a look at who rocked the red carpet:

Kelly Price rocked a floor sweeping sequin raspberry colored gown with draped sleeves and a silver necklace. The dress looked wonderful on her, however, the necklace didn't quite go. A bracelet and clutch would have taken this look up a notch.

The night's big winner Adele looked quite smashing in an all black floor length sequin gown by Armani. The British singer opted for a bold lip and strawberry blond locks for her big Grammy night.
A slimmed down and still curvy Alicia Keys went for a simple all black dress with capped toe ankle strap heels and a gold plated choker.

American Idol contestant Mandisa also went for sequins in a one shoulder ruched dress and black peeptoe pumps.

Curvy girl Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum looked super sexy in a thigh high two toned split dress and black strappy sandals.

Like Adele and Kelly, Grammy nominee Ledisi went for a sequin gown in sparkling silver.

Kelly Clarkson wore a black chiffon dress with silver strapped details around the waist and a pendant necklace. Not my favorite from Kelly.

What do you guys think. Who was your favorite?

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
It looks like the rumors were all true. Lo and behold Adele snagged the cover of US Vogue's March 2012 issue. Woot, woot! Adele looks radiant in a black lace dress, natural makeup and lots of lashes and eyeliner. The recent Grammy award winner sits down with Vogue and talks about what it was like to get throat surgery and the guy who inspired her record breaking album 21.

Adele is a force to be reckoned with and I love that the fashion world is giving her, her shine.

In the interview Adele talks about the guy who inspired the album 21:
“You know, he was amazing. He was great. But it was never going to work. And for ages I was like, As if he deserves any fucking kudos for inspiring my record. But now, after some time, it only seems right that the person who so far has had the biggest impact on me—has now changed my life for fucking ever with this album—deserves a little credit. I can do things that I never dreamed I’d be able to do. If I hadn’t met him, I think I’d still be that little girl I was when I was eighteen. And the best thing is, I now know what I want for myself and from someone else. I didn’t know what I wanted before.”

Adele's spread was very old world romantic with lots of lace, corsets, and bold bright lips.

Adele on her new boo
"He’s wonderful,” Adele tells me later. “And he’s proud of me, but he don’t care about what I do or what other people think. He looks after me. I don’t think I would have gotten through the recovery for my surgery if it hadn’t been for him

For more of the interview go to VOGUE. The March issue is on newsstands now.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
As promised, here's me in my gifted London Times cold shoulder dress. I've always been a fan of the open shoulder tops and dresses but never owned an item myself. The cold shoulder dress stood out to me because of the beautiful draping. It is the perfect dress for a cocktail party or evening event. The sizing was true to the measurements on London Times size chart. The dress looks equally as good without any accessories but I wanted to dress it up a little more. I added a pair of oversized leopard print earrings from Peppermint Chic and a multi-layered necklace from Forever21.

You can checkout the cold shoulder dress HERE It comes in sizes 14W-22W

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
We are ending this Friday with a fun giveaway. A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to checkout an online jewelry boutique called Peppermint Chic. It's a modern  jewelry collection with trendy styles. When it comes to accessories I love costume jewelry. I like it oversized and gaudy. Peppermint Chic pieces were right up my alley. They have loads of large necklaces and big earrings all with an upscale look to them. They offered to send me a few pieces and I have been wearing them ever since. I took a few shots of me on the days I wore a few of the pieces they sent me. My favorites were the colorful necklace, leather bracelet, and turquoise cocktail ring.

Peppermint Chic has been so gracious to offer one SC reader a $50 e-giftcard to order their very own Peppermint Chic jewelry.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
We are doing today's Fierce Friday a little different. With so much negativity going around about plus size women embracing their body I wanted to give you guys a little body positive image from one of my favorite people, Madeline Jones aka Maddy, the editor and chief of Plus Model Magazine. Some of you may have seen this photo before because it was released a few months back in 2011. However, Maddy honestly embodies and embraces the pride of plus size women. A former plus model herself, Maddy has made it her business to always represent for the girls with a little meat on their bones.

Maddy is rocking a Swarvoski Crystal Lane Bryant bra that she won during last summer's FFFWeek contest with Lane Bryant. I thought the photo of her was just stunning and wanted to share with you a little inspiration to help you become your most proud fierce self.

Also, be sure to checkout the February issue of Plus Model Magazine
