Hey curvy girls all over the world,
It is such a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Spring is truly in the air. Today I decided take my sleeveless trench vest for a spin.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Yesterday evening, I decided to participate in a little retail therapy after a trying and what seemed like a super long day of work. I decided to take a break from online shopping and head to 34th street to checkout Macy's and use a giftcard that was gifted to me. I haven't shopped Macy's in store in awhile and was pleasantly surprised when I saw some major improvements they've made to the store in general. I was even more surprised when I got to the 7th floor and saw that they changed their entire plus size section around. The set up is much more sleek and actually makes you want to shop.

The old 34th street floor plan would have all the unappealing apparel to the front of the store and you would have to navigate all the way to the back of the store to find the current on trend styles. Now, they've switched things around to where all the on trend styles are front and center. Before you could only purchase the junior size style online now at 34th, they've added some of the junior plus brands like Soprano in store.

So for those of you who live in NYC take a stop by the 34th street store and ride the escalator alllllll the way up to the 7th floor to checkout the plus size department.

Like many department stores they can definitely work on adding some more plus size brands in store. I think DKNYC Plus and Tahari Plus would be great additions to the Macy's on 34th street.

Checkout some of my finds:

The Baby Phat section

American Rag is the first brand you see when you walk in

The Junior party dress section

Calvin Klein

Not Your Daughters Jeans

Michael Kors

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
I know I left you guys hanging for a couple of days but work has been kicking my butt. I am hoping to be back to our regularly schedule features next week. Speaking of regular features we are ending off the work week with a new stylish curvy girl of the day. Whitney sent in her pics to represent for the curvy girls in B'More, Maryland. When it comes to embracing her curves here's what she had to say:

I embrace my curves more and more everyday! Growing up, I was never skinny. I was "thick" and because I played sports, I had an athletic build as well. Once I got older, I began to appreciate my body a lot more and wear clothes that flattered my curvy figure.

I like to wear leggings because not only are they comfy, but the showcase your figure. I also enjoy wearing simple tee's tucked in with cropped blazers. Again, it shows my shape better then bigger/bulkier blazers.

My mother has always told me to be proud of the body God gave me, and work it! Since I began blogging, it has been my personal challenge to push myself and embrace my God-given curves.

And I think I've been doing a good job so far ;-)

Thanks for sending in your pics Whitney! Your black and white leopard shoes and green dress are cute. What do you guys think?

If you think you are a stylish curvy girl then send in 3-6 full length pictures of your best put together outfits with your location and a blurb about how you embrace your curves to stylishcurves@gmail.com. We love to see other curvy girls personal style. *And no you don't have to be a blogger to submit.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Finally, finally you can get your hands on Jessica Simpson's plus size clothes. I've been waiting for a minute for Jessica to unleash a real plus size collection besides coats and of course her uber cute shoes. Jessica has always made apparel in size 2-14 but no real plus size collection has surfaced until 2012.

Currently you can find Jessica Simpson plus at Macy's and Lord & Taylor. The spring collection is filled with girlie empire waist dresses adorned with floral and geometric prints and sequin embellishments. She even churned out a few cute tops and a polka dot blazer. She definitely balanced out the collection with classic silhouettes and on trend styles. The majority of the collection encompasses Jessica's personal style especially when it comes to dresses. I'm hoping for a full fledged denim line for plus size from her.

Jessica Simpson Plus comes in sizes 12W-20W (1X-3X) and is priced under $200.

My only pet peeve, um, why didn't you tell anybody? One of the common mistakes of brands that design plus size clothes is that they never do a proper launch and really let the plus size community know that they design for them.

Nevertheless, I can't wait to see what the plus size division develops into.
Take a look at a few of her plus size dresses available at Macy's. What do you think?

You can find these styles at Lord & Taylor

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Last week SC was invited to the Thre.ad Iphone app launch party at Caravan Studios in NYC. What is Thre.ad ? Well Thre.ad is the newest and best way to spot and share street style. Basically you take a picture of yourself or some super chic stylista and then you upload the picture for people to vote on it. You're creating a Thre.ad of style and can follow other top Thre.aders or become one yourself. Thre.ad recently created an iphone app for their site, so now you can just snap style with your handy dandy Iphone without having to go through the whole upload phase.

You can checkout the Thre.ad site and sign up to create your own personal style lookbook and to submit picks of your flyest friends HERE

The launch party was filled with tons of goodies like Melissa cupcakes, P.O.P chips, an ULTA beauty bar, jewelry from Charlotte Russe, and of course stylish people from magazine editors to bloggers. Take a look at who I spotted and what I snagged for my goodie bag.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
I am so excited that spring has arrived. My weekend social calendar has been non-existent so I''ve been breaking out a few of my spring pieces for work. My go to piece for my spring and summer work wardrobe will be shirt dresses. They are a no fuss and no stress way to look pulled together for the office. I can just get up in the morning and go, opposed to staring at my closet for 10 minutes wondering what I am going to wear. Since bright colors are a major trend for 2012 I figured it would only be right to rock a bright green shirtdress to the office complete with colorblocked heels and a bright orange necklace.

I'm hoping to score some brownie points for brightening up the office today.

What will be your go to work piece for spring?

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Remember when City Chic made its US debut they had this super chic black sheer top curve hugging dress called the "Roxanne?" Well, the Roxanne dress is a big seller for City Chic and often sells out. Since it's one of their hot buys, they've decide to bring it back in different colors. You can now get the Roxanne dress in a firey red and a bold cobalt blue. Just head on over to City Chic and drop it in your shopping cart before it sells out. Oh and did I mention that the Roxanne is only $78. Yup! Get it HERE
