Last week Chrisette was spotted in Miami attending Remy Martin presents “Chris Bosh Comedy Club & Boardwalk Casino Night.” The natural haired beauty went for a lace floral print knee length dress and gold satin peeptoes.

STYLE JOURNEY: RED AND BLUE

Hey curvy girls all over the world,

I am crazy obsessed with the trends from this spring season because it involves oodles of color. From colorblocking to neon brights color is everywhere and I am taking full advantage. Reds, yellows, pinks, and blues, oh my! I'm in color heaven.  A lot women are afraid of wearing bright colors for fear of looking bigger or for fear of just looking too bright. Let me say this, color is your friend. You don't have to be doused head to toe in bright color but you can incorporate it with your neutrals or darks and still be on trend and feel comfortable. I think we need to look at color in a different way. Use color as a punctuation to your outfits. Whether it be with a pair of shoes or a piece of jewelry.

I personally don't have a problem with bright colors or mixing and matching colors. Rich bright reds and blues go well with my complexion and actually brighten up my face. As a dark skin woman I embrace it now more than ever.

Today, I felt a color wave flow through me and decided to get my colorblocking on. I picked out a red blazer and teamed it up with my cobalt blue skinny jeans and a white tank for a strong yet simplistic look. I chose a pair of floral print platform pumps to add a bit of interest and topped the look off with gold layered triangle earrings, a gold cuff, and my Michael Kors oversized watch.

As you can see, I switched my hair up again. I went for an exaggerated ponytail with a bang for the early spring season. I love wearing ponytails because it frees up my time getting dressed in the morning and it hold up well when the weather gets windy and humid.

CLEMENTS RIBEIRO DESIGNS A SEXY AND FEMININE PLUS SIZE COLLECTION FOR EVANS

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
While we can't get plus size collaborations at main stream giant stores like Target and H&M, every now and again we get our own little plus size collabo's from UK plus size retailers and they actually turn out pretty good. Remember Beth Ditto for Evans? Well, Evan's in keeping up the momentum. In the month of April, husband and wife design duo Clements Ribeiro will release a plus size collection at Evans. The collection promises to deliver quality fabrics, structured designs, flattering details, and on trend styles. It will read both sexy and feminine. Clements Ribeiro has never designed for plus size women and wanted to make this special collection to give plus size women what they've been missing in fashion.

We can expect to see vibrant colors, non traditional prints for plus sizes, and a a sex appeal that every woman possesses. According to UK's Daily Mail, the designers used a size 22 fit model and paid close attention to how the clothes looked on the larger parts of plus size women. They designed dresses with sleeves and made enough room in the bust area for a comfortable fit.

To get an idea of what their clothes will look like on plus size women you can refer back to Adele at the Barclaycard Mercury Prize 2011 at Grosvenor House. She wore one of their black lace dresses.

It has finally happened. You can now get your Monif C. fix at Nordstrom's. Yes! Monif C. is a house hold name amongst plus size women. Her signature jersey Marilyn convertible dresses have kept her in business for over 6 years and her business savvy has gotten her featured in Crains, Essence, Black Enterprise, and a host of other magazines.

We are starting this week off with another Stylish Curvy girl. It looks like the south is representing again because today's stylish curvy girl is Christian-Joy from South Florida. When it comes to embracing her curves here's what she had to say:

I like to think of myself as the "Rustic Diva". I just recently started really "dressing" after a significant weight loss so I'm still new to the whole diva part of that title.

Now that I can fit a lot of the types of clothes that I've wanted to purchase for awhile, I'm starting to embrace how I look in them.

I'm in my late 20s and for the first time I am finally beginning to feel secure in my skin and I'm finding that this new found confidence is drawing people to me like moths to a flame.

 I'm falling in love with fashion for the first time in my life and I'm looking to be more daring with prints & color choices which is big part of the reason why I follow this blog, for inspiration!

CELEBRITY CURVES ON THE SCENE

Looks like some of our favorite curvy and plus size celebrity's were out and about this weekend. Let's take a look at who was working it.

Fellow curvy girl and Reebok RealFlex spokesperson Jordin Sparks was  spotted at Muhammad Ali's Celebrity Fight Night XIII in a leopard print Kevin Hall dress looking sophisticated and chic with her hair pulled back.

Next up we have SC fave Amber Riley who is showcasing her new slimmed down figure. Amber was getting her biker chick on at  Perez Hilton’s Mad Hatter tea party birthday celebration. Normally Amber opts for feminine dresses and this time she shook things up by donning a sequin corset top, black leather jacket, and biker boots to match. Two snaps for Amber going for a different look.

Queen Latifah can never do wrong in my eyes. She is one plus size ride or die chick that always looks her best at an event. In true Latifah fashion she rocked a body con one shoulder sequin knee length dress to the The Blacks’ Annual Gala. Always the lady, isn't she?

Last and surely not least is Christina Hendricks. Now Christina can be either a hit or a miss when it comes to her style. The uber curvy actress wore a frilly feminine black and beige top with a floor length chiffon pleated skirt to a Mad Men AMC event. I'm on the fence about the look, how about you?

CELEBRITY STYLE FOR CURVES

We are kicking off this bright and sunny Monday morning with celebrity style for plus size curves. Actress Malin Akerman was spotted rocking a little red hot sexy dress from Halston Heritage at the Restoration Hardware's spring launch. Malin's style is always simple yet sexy and this look is no different. Malin kept the look pretty basic with nude pumps and an oversized clutch. The off the shoulder dress is subtly sexy and leaves a lot to the imagination.

I have to keep it real and say that this is not the best fit for Malin so SC is going to show you how a curvy girl can pull this look off. For the girl with curves, Torrid makes an amazing look-a-like dress with a black skinny belt. The saucy red number will have men falling at your feet. Retro dresses are becoming a popular trend with their longer hemlines and body skimming silhouettes. Doesn't this look remind you of Wanda from the 1990 Johnny Depp movie "Cry Baby?" All you need is a little neck tie and a cropped leather jacket.
