Hey curvy girls all over the world,
For a classic girl like me, polka dot dresses (polka dot anything) are a must in my wardrobe. They remind me of the 50's, especially, if I find a fit and flare style like the one I'm wearing.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Today's post is beneficial to both my plus-sized and straight sized readers.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
FFFWeek is fast approaching and there are two designers we can't wait to see.

First up is:
Youtheary Khmer
Former Cambodian model and wardrobe stylist Theary Sim saw the need for contemporary fashion in the curvy community and decided in 2010 to create a line of modern and fashionable clothes for plus size women. "Youtheary Khmer wants every woman to love her curves and can feel beautiful just walking down the street. Our mission is to design custom, effortless looks by providing well-made, high quality clothing that is flattering, trendy, and most importantly doesn’t break the bank."

The line of trendy threads is affordable with nothing over $100. Sizes run from 12-22 and guess what, she uses plus size models to give you an idea of what the clothes will look like on your body. The plus size line doesn't stop at clothes but also includes accessories such as chic handbags.

MASAARI
You may have heard and seen some of the designs from MASAARI back in the fall of 2011. They created quite a buzz after an interview with Refinery 29. Well, now, you have an opportunity to see them first hand because they will be showcasing at FFFWeeek 2012 too. MASAARI designs are culturally inspired and cut for your plus size curves. Their collections are heavily influenced by foreign travel which you will see in the diversity of their fabric and print choices. The designer boasts that the Masaari woman is  modern day warrior.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Today, I thought to myself, what does one wear for a breezy night out that doesn't require spanx or a thong. Then it hit me. Shorts! On this breezy spring night, I wanted to sport an outfit that was equal parts chic and sexy. When I think of leather in the spring and summer, I always think about a scene in Waiting to Exhale when Lela Rochon's character Robin tells her drug addicted boyfriend Troy, who had on  a leather vest to get his leather wearing in the summertime, need a shave, stinky ass out of here. I thought it was one of the funniest scenes in the movies. It also made me make a mental note, never to wear leather in the summertime.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
When  it comes to prints, stripes, polka dots, and leopard, are my personal staples. They are classic prints that are always in style. However, for me, stripes are my absolute favorite thing to wear. I think one of the main reasons is that so many people believe that plus size women shouldn't be caught dead in horizontal stripes. Obviously, I beg to differ. In my opinion, plus size women can wear stripes. We can wear pretty much anything any non plus size woman can.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Some of the biggest celebrities in the world have made Tadashi Shoji, the king of draping and ruching they're go to designer when it comes to red carpet events. No matter their size, plus and straight size women all flock to the designer when they want a sexy, sophisticated, flattering look. I've written about Tadashi Shoji designs numerous times and one thing that always sticks out to me with his designs is that he never ever sacrifices style just to make something look flattering and just about everything he makes in straight sizes also comes in plus.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
We have received a couple of Stylish Curves of the day submissions and today we are checking out Vanessa from San Francisco.

When it comes to embracing her curves, here's what Vanessa had to say:

"My name is Vanessa Chan, from San Francisco and here's where I write about emerging places, people and trends, including plus fashion! http://sf.untappedcities.com/author/vanessachan/

"I embrace my curves by wearing lots of color, by emphasizing my best assets, and frankly by being unafraid."

"Being a plus-sized Asian woman has never been easy, but life's too short to be inhibited!"

Thanks Vanessa for your submission and yes represent for the plus size Asian girls.

What do you guys think of Vanessa's style?

If you would like to be features as Stylish Curves of the day please submit 3-6 photos of your best looks to Stylishcurves@gmail.com with a blurb abut how you embrace your curves and where you're from.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
I hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend so far. I know I am. This is just one of the summer dresses that I found during Macy's mega sale last weekend. I'm not a big fan of American Rag but I have been digging their flirty dresses lately. I keep saying that I am not a floral print kind of girl but I keep buying floral print pieces.

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
It's memorial day weekend and we got the scoop on what's going on in the fashion industry and with some of your fave celebrities.

Let's Go!

XO Jane and Gabi Fresh create a Fatkini lookbook
I love when plus size women can get together and show the world that we are proud of our bodies. Plus size blogger and former MTV Twitter Jockey Gabi Fresh teamed up with XO Jane to release a mini look book of plus size women rocking their bikini's. The majority of society would not approve and would have us to be ashamed of our bodies but this look book is so empowering beyond words.
Check it out at XOJane

News just broke that super blogger Bryan Boy has inked a major deal with ANTM. Not sure what his role will be but, I'm quite sure he's probably going to be a judge. Can't wait to see how that partnership turns out.

So it looks like plus size models are heating up magazine spreads across the country. Most recently curvy model Candace Huffine was shot by Damon Baker for a sexy spread in Spanish magazine S Moda. Of course most of the shots were baring lots of skin. I personally would love to see a real spread with plus size models in clothes made for us. Don't you?

Everyone's fat girl hero Beth Ditto chatted it up with Virtue and dished about her feelings on Karl Lagerfeld's negative comments about Adele, if she had the time she would do a line of clothes for plus size men and women that would be affordable, have classic pieces as well edgy styles.   She also mentioned that one of her fave stores was ReDress (now closed) in Brooklyn.
