It's been awhile since I've done a video for Stylish Curves TV. My last video was my spring haul (seen here). Well, I am working on being more consistent with doing videos. However, I want to make sure I'm not bringing you redundant material. So, what I've decided to do is to take you guys shopping with me. One of the things I love to do most is shop. I don't always have to buy anything but I sincerely enjoy seeing what's in stores.

ALISSA ON THE SCENE: MYNT 1792 BLOGGER EVENT

A couple of weeks ago I was invited to attend the Mynt 1792 collection launch presented by Plus Model Magazine. If you haven't heard already, Mynt 1792 is a new plus size line that consists of blazers, jackets, coats, and denim for plus size women. The new line is a well curated collection of outerwear and bottoms that the new generation of plus size women would want to wear. They showcased their collection this past summer at FFFWeek and they are set to launch their online site on October 1st and not only will you be able to purchase their clothes on their site, the clothes will also be available at Nordstrom's online site as well.

ELENA MIRO SPRING 2013 COLLECTION

Last week Elena Miro debuted her spring collection at LFW and I think this may just be her best one yet. With lots of bold pattern play on silk fabrics spring is sure to be a dashing one for plus size fashionista's. Elena Miro's knack for adding strong feminine appeal to her is what makes her standout as a designer. For spring she banked on form fitting silhouttes with sheath dresses and leather skirts.

Sometimes a night out requires an all black outfit. Now black, especially all black is not my thing. I am a girl who loves bright colors and likes to mix them up. However, A few months ago I spotted this sheer mesh polka dot top from H&M plus line. I scooped it up so fast because it was very reminiscent of Stella McCartney's mesh polka dot dresses and tops she created for her Fall 2011 line.

When it comes to accessories one of the things I like to wear besides a pair of over sized earrings are colored and tortoise shell glasses. There is just something about them that  adds a little flair to your outfit. I have a pair of pink round bug eyed sunglasses that I wear and have worn on this blog. I love how a pair of colored frames can add an extra jolt to a simple look or take an already snazzy ensemble to the next level. When I buy glasses I do like to go with name brands but I like name brands on a discount.

I was so hyped to see Jilly from Philly as the October cover girl of Essence magazine. For the past 2 years Jiill has really been owning her natural beauty and natural plus size curves. From switching up her hair to rocking body con dresses and sexy heels Jill Scott seems to be a new woman and we are loving it.

I can finally share some fabulous news with you guys. I have been holding it for the past month and it was killing me. I am so happy to announce that I am the new shopping editor for Plus Model Magazine. Plus Model Magazine is the #1 plus size online magazine and it is seriously a dream come true. My family and friends can attest to the fact that one of my dreams was to be a fashion magazine editor and last month Editor & Chief of PMM, Madeline Jones made that dream come true for me.

It is my passion to show plus size women that they can be stylish and to make shopping for them easier. That is the ultimate goal of my blog and why I do more than just outfit posts. My first piece is in the September issue which has 3 covers featuring plus models Fluvia Lacerda, Chasity Saunders, and Khatya. Please, please, please checkout the September issue and let me know your thoughts on my first feature. It involves the hot new fall shoe trends.

As I told you guys before, it is important to be thankful for small opportunities and blessings because bigger ones are sure to follow.
