STYLE JOURNEY: DAYTIME METALLICS

Hey curvy girls all over the world,

Apologies for the lack of posts today. My office has been pretty busy so I haven't been able to crank out any posts. Lately I have been doing so much thinking about the blog and the direction I would like to take it in. I love blogging and I just want to make sure I am keeping your attention.

There are a few new feature ideas that I am playing around with but nothing has really gotten me excited so I would love to know what you guys want. Feel free to leave a comment or drop me an email at stylishcurves@gmail.com.

Now, on to this outfit. I love that metallic's are a popular trend this year. I made sure I embraced the trend by snatching up a pair of gold metallic skinny jeans from F21. When I think about metallic, evening always comes to mind. Since I my weekend activities were during the day, I wanted to add a little sheen to my daytime look. These pants were perfect.

To make the metallic jeans work for day I rocked them with a cozy belted knit sweater from Baby Phat. It comes in both plus and misses sizes.  I'll admit that I liked this sweater for one reason only. Can you guess? Yup, the leopard print belt. I also thought the diagonal hem on the bottom was pretty cool too.

I topped off my ensemble with a pair of black suede gold cap toe pumps, a gold link necklace. Threw on my cat eye sunnies and I was ready to go..

STYLE JOURNEY: THE NIGHT TIME IS THE RIGHT TIME FOR LEOPARD PRINT DRESSES

As a leopard print lover I was particularly smitten with this faux wrap dress that I found at K&G's superstore. I swear I am in K&G's all the time since it is literally across the street from my office. Some days are a hit and some days are a complete and total miss. I was drawn to this dress because the leopard print was different than all the other leopard print pieces I have. I actually found this piece in the misses section. It was just hanging there by itself. I eased up on it and saw that it was an XL. You guys know that I believe in trying everything on no matter the size. I looked at the dress and looked  at my size 20 body and said, "We gonna make this work. I don't know who we was but, I was going to fit into this dress.

Well, as you can see, it fit and my girls (aka ample bosom) were looking right.  I've sworn off buying leopard print for awhile because I have so many pieces with that print. Let's see how long I can go without buying leopard.

I've been a New Yorker all my life and have never experienced a hurricane of Sandy's strength. While everyone is working as hard as they possibly can to get NYC and New Jersey residents back on their feet, I ask that you can show your support to NY & NJ by donating to the Red Cross. There are areas who literally have no electricity, no food, and their homes have been destroyed. There were so many boroughs and county's affected by Sandy that the city didn't even know about them. Due to that, they feel forgotten.
