A PLUS SIZE STYLE JOURNEY: BOLD STRIPES

Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Happy MLK Day and Inauguration day!
I've had my eye on this striped peplum top from ASOS Curve for awhile. Normally, anytime I see stripes, I have to have it. This particular striped top has wide bold stripes which can be a little scary especially if you have an ample bosom.

I wanted to try the top out and thanks to Gwynnie Bee, I was able to take it for a test drive. I liked how striking and in your face the striped top is. Since it's such a bold piece, I thought I would rock it with black and red. One of my favorite color combinations.

This red leather skirt is one of the best pieces that I bought from Forever 21 plus. I am always looking for ways to create outfits with it. I thought it would be interesting to pair it with the striped top and patent leather Mary Jane's. I topped it off with a black and gold statement necklace and my Simply Be mixed media coat.

I know a lot of people are getting tired of the peplum trend but I am still infatuated. Though I only own 1 peplum item in my wardrobe, I hope to expand with peplum prints rather than solids. Thank you for recommending Gwynnie Bee, it will be a good site to try trends before making a full commitment, lol.
